  1. Yep, prefer the alternate one too - Nice one Rog. Jabo
  2. Fortunately Jax, this is a common problem, and appears to be related to the optical drive (my copy of IL2 will only run on one of my two identical dvd-rw drives) - go figure. What you need is the no-cd crack which should be available in the vault (I've just uploaded it). It ceases to be a problem at that point! Don't forget that if you want to fly online with the DDz, you'll need to patch the game to v4.08, then v4.09 and then install UltraPack 2.0n. If you're going down this route, I think UP2.0n includes the No-CD patch anyway (someone will be along to correct this shortly I'm sure). Jabo
  3. did what? (ducks and runs for cover) Seriously, looks good Rog. I didn't mind changing my birthday back. It's good to be a 'thirty-something' again. ROFL. Jabo
  4. Still offically a 'thirtysomething'

  5. The question is though, how much slut is too much? ROFL, nice find SP.
  6. Look on the bright side Hill m8, you could have a static one parked on the drive for $650K!

Dunno m8, your settings are OK.
  9. ROFL Nice work Squawk
  10. Don't forget BAs Wednesday night session - that might be a better time for you. Jabo
  11. Even shorter icons will help, for instance, earlier this evening when TOAD and I were flying Tiffies down low over somewhere French even though TOAD got bounced and taken out by Snacko, when he (Snacko) went high, I snuck out low, and I think I got out of icon range before he levelled off and due to being on the deck, was probably out of visual range too (either that or he just let me go ) Jabo
  12. Nice work Snacko. I wonder if Jim's first co-op tonight will feature the IL2.... On TOADs point of the bomb run exit pointing towards home, this was a tactic employed successfully by Beauforts in the Med when attacking shipping with torps. Jabo
  13. In theory, being at altitude makes you easier to spot, and although diving down to the target gives you a greater entry and exit speed, I suspect the 109 or 190 will still overhaul an IL2 pretty quickly. That really leaves being low down, and from what I've read, for an aircraft to blend in, it's got to be really low. Regardless of what you choose though, multiple aircraft have a better chance of getting through, provided a reasonably tight formation can be maintained, and you might want to consider shortening the icons further for enemy aircraft. Ground pounders need to be able to slip in and out of the target areas without being detected to have a good chance of survival. How about changing routes to and from the target, so you approach from an angle the dastardly Arthur does not expect? Ignore the waypoints and sneak around the back as it were. The last statement would have been funnier if Snacko hadn't beaten me to the punch. Jabo
  14. Um. I thought that left and right wheel brakes were slaved to the rudder in game? Try it when stationary, hit the brakes and give it full rudder and your plane will turn on a sixpence even if your engine throttle controls are set together. The only times I have found individual throttle control useful is when nursing a damaged plane home (and even then trim is more useful), or when taxiing flying boats when it's an absolute must-have.
  15. Yep, I'm using the same version as Snacko on my Win 7 64-bit OS, and it's caused me no problems. I'd be inclined to go with the latest s/w first and worry about your profiles later. Plenty of time to footle with those once the TIR is working on the default settings. Jabo
  16. I've been there when the Sabre's been in the circuit. They haul some serious ass, particularly in the low passes along the runway. Jabo
  17. Some nice footage of Duxford's F86A on youtube for the jet fans.
  18. Likewise, but I'm off to bed now. Jabo
  19. Lol and rofl. Nice work m8. Jabo
  20. OK, thanks, I'll keep an eye open. Jabo
  21. Well, it would appear Spring is here at last as the inhabitants of Hangars 2 & 3 start to emerge from hibernation. From earlier today, here's the Bearcat's first engine run following the winter inspection. And my 1700th post too! Jabo
  22. when's this likely to happen Rog? Jabo
  23. Erm...yes, except we're in London on the night of Thursday the 8th - Friday the 9th we'll be at the Red Lion.
  24. And just to whet the appetite;
