@Blubear - well it does hold the universe together...

@FT - no-one took it off, it fell off!

I am fairly sure that Jabo drives a Morgan. But I'm surprised to learn that they make a van.

      @Tribunus - Morgan? I wish

  4. Hmm, some of my friends are classed as 'adults' m8. I tend to keep sharp things away from them... I've never tried the sprue (that's what I know it as too) thing but it seems straight-forward enough. Once I'm done building I'll have plenty of straight bits to practice with. Jabo
  5. Failing that Mick, I've got an 9800GTX here if you feel the need for an upgrade. Jabo
  6. OK, got a couple of coats of paint on the topside now, it's looking kinda grey...The final coat will wait until I'm happy that the seams are gone. Then ditto the underside. I've noticed that the actual aircraft has a whip antenna mounted on the top of the fuselage, just aft of the canopy when slid back. See below; Seafire Mk.17 (SX336 coded VL-105 / G-KASX) by Traumahawk, on Flickr This isn't modelled in the kit, but I'd like to add it. What's the approved method? Jabo
  7. That's kinda spooky while being kinda cool too. I may have been a goth in a previous life. But then again...no. Jabo
  8. Update from the TFC website (19/08/11) "We promised to keep you updated on the date of Flying Legends 2012 - this is where we are at present (19/08/11): The dates for Flying legends 2012 will be announced soonest, further to detailed discussion and agreement with various parties Many thanks for your continued patience" So that tells us basically diddly. I'll continue to monitor the situation. Jabo
  9. It's on hold Col while we wait for the show dates to be confirmed. There's no point til we know when that's going to happen. Jabo
  10. It's my 40th birthday the Saturday before, so I'm going as a present to me!

    Bromide might be better.
  12. Pete - see below. More pics - main construction complete. Working up the courage to start filling and sanding. Got some very fine wet and dry soaking at the moment. Jabo
  13. That'll probably do then, I'm sure Rog will be along shortly to bestow the 'DD' tag. Welcome to the pound Zoi, pull up a kennel. Jabo
  14. As was stated in the interview - an expensive hole in the ground. He's incredibly fortunate to have been able to bail successfully so low although his many hours in the P-51 and RAF training undoubtably came to his aid. I wonder what was going through that groundcrew person's mind as they made that call to his mobile. Jabo
  15. Personally, I'd be looking to splice a new connector on rather than try to repair an existing one. It's relatively straight-forward to do. Back when I was using Freetrack, I built myself a USB-powered track clip rather than have a battery powered one. Just google for the standard USB pinouts and go from there. Jabo
  16. Dry fit of wings to fuselage. It's not gone together too badly as it happens, there's a little sanding/filling to do on the fuselage and there'll be more once the wings are fitted but overall I'm happy with it so far. Jabo P.S. Sorry for the crappy photo, I only had the phone to hand.
  17. Lordy, that's a lot of work they're undertaking. Hopefully this will make the game playable for more people. It's tantamount to an admission that they took their eye off the ball during the development but it's a positive sign that they're addressing the issues. It also explains why things have been quiet recently on the problem solution front. Jabo
  18. Damn, must only be working in the US.
  19. Indeed Sherlock!

Thinking about this again Mick, I doubt that cabinet would be large enough as my 1/32 diecast Mossie doesn't fit in it, so your 88 certainly won't. Jabo

+1 Rog, no problem with people outside the group using the public server - after all it's what it's there for. The private group should also do what it says on the tin. It is certainly time to change the password on the private server. Jabo

Sounds ideal, shame you're on the wrong side of the ol' herring pond.

Yes, at least 3. Ikea (other Scandanavian furniture retailers are available) do an upright cabinet with six shelves, solid doors on bottom half and glass doors for the top. I have one for my diecast planes (the boxes live below) and have fitted lights (also sold by Ikea) for illumination. The shelves are solid, but glass might be better. Here's my 1/32nd scale BBD in said cabinet. Jabo P.S. Just had a quick look for Do-17 kits in 1/32nd. You might be out of luck here. 1/72nd - yes, 1/48th - yes but no 1/32nd.
  25. Seems pretty good to me Col, although I had problems joining Swep's server last night. It's getting there though. Jabo
