  2. Anyway, the TV programme about 'Winkle' was very good. Thanks for the heads up BB, I'd have missed it else.
  3. 2gb is pushing it a bit though for windows 7.<br /><br />The code sticker should also tell you if you need the service pack 1 or 2 version. You'll need the right version otherwise the code won't work
  4. Spend the same money upgrading to windows 7 and you'll have a working disk again. Check the spec of the laptop first
  5. You've pretty much got it all there Dave, download all the files from that post first and install them in order. All except the last one are .zip files which need to be extracted then run the extracted .exe files. The last one is a .exe already so you can just run that one straight away. Jabo
  6. A most excellent show - a bit of everything for everyone I think. Dogz representation provided by Blubear, Fenrir and myself along with Chris' housemate - Chris! As you might expect this caused occasional confusion. I therefore suggest that the other Chris be awarded honorary Dog(z) status for putting up with the wittering. He likes helicopters but some things can't be helped... So first of all we had some gliders. Given that gliders were an important component of the invasion and as the commentator reminded us several times that there are no Horsas,Hamilcars or the other one (I forgot) in airworthy condition we had some random gliderage. Then two lovely smooth displays by the BBMF's Spitfire PRXIX and Dakota III Then things started to get noisy with a brilliant 'Heritage Pair' of the PRXIX and a Eurofighter Typhoon appropriately marked with invasion stripes for this year. Before they got really noisy with one of the most exuberant solo displays I have ever seen from the Tiffie - It really had the lot finishing with a vertical twisting climb (with reheat) taking the aircraft up 8000 feet in about 10 seconds. Sadly no pictures of that bit as I was too busy watching, completely mesmerised. And my personal favourite; Installment the second Spitty and Buchon hide and seek amongst the clouds Briiliant display of formation aerobatics from 'Frankie' and '434 Apache! French team putting the Reds to shame - no, seriously!
  7. Excellent news that '805 is unlikely to be badly damaged and the news that I'm likely to see a Spit I've never seen before tomorrow is pretty darn good too!
  8. So I was in the attic earlier looking for my rucksack. Didn't find it before finding a large colony of bees who've set up home in my roof. Needless to say I exited the attic with alacrity and no rucksack.

Sure they're bees? Wasps are more likely to swarm in attics - and you need to get them removed if they are wasps.

      Definitely bees

It's funny that I just saw this. A local guy just got killed by a swarm of bees while doing an attic cleanout and his partner got put in the hospital. Retreat was most assuredly the best option, discretion being the better part of valor and all......

  9. Never saw the one at Folkestone, but I remember there being (a defused) one on the quay at Mudeford on the south coast (near Bournemouth) where we used to holiday when I was a child.
  10. Maybe - but it would certainly fix the problem provided the hardware is OK
  11. Reinstall windows.
  12. Shoreham is on my list too Chris, will make a serious effort to do that this year. Especially as the sea vixen is back on the circuit and Shoreham is the best chance to see her apart fron Bournemouth.
  13. How about Shoreham and Bournemouth - Could do Shoreham on the Saturday and Bournemouth on the Sunday? Handy for you too! I suggest we hold off for a brief while until we find out about the dates in September though - might be nice to do Shoreham or Bournemouth + Dux for instance. This option gives us a choice of dates too in case of poor weather.
  14. Both Lancasters now confirmed for 'Combined Ops 2014' at Headcorn (Lashenden) 16th & 17th August. Confirmation from CWH. Actually I can do better than this. This link here shows their itinerary for August - both Lancs at Eastborne, Shoreham, Bournemouth - I'm tempted by all of these despite the distances. Their original intention was to be on the way home early in September but now they're saying mid-September - So as to include the season closer at Duxford on 13th/14th Sep maybe?
  15. According to CWH the schedule for the Lanc's displays will be released next week! Hopefully Shoreham and Duxford's Autumn season closer are on there somewhere! On a related note, does anyone have C$40,000 spare? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Avro-Lancaster-Bomber-Flight-/251519471501?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:CA:1123 Fly in the Lanc on it's trip from Hamilton to the UK. Approx 18 hours flight time!
  16. Happy birthday sir!

  18. I've been watching these of a while now, but I wasn't aware the entire archive is now available. Brilliant! Jabo P.S, It's about time youtube was used for more than dancing kittens.
  19. She's a beaut Flak
  20. Don't think that's a major problem Kira. Just need some stick time now. Jump on to TS on the next coop night and we can check things out once you are online. Jabo
