  1. It was nice flying with you last night (although too briefly on my part). I woud also like to say sorry for shooting you down after you had said that you were having trouble taking off. May I point you (and any other recent joiners) to Our Squadron Standing Orders This lays out how we like to behave etc. Above all, welcome to the Dogz and I look forward to flying with you for longer next time. Cheers Friar
  2. my point exactly... It could be 16:00 dogztime (for example)
  3. Can I make it clear (if in doubt) my poke at DT was in jest (hence the kiss and drunken smile) I know someone like DT would not (and if fact does not need to) use such a trick to improve his flying. It was probably just one of those WTF type moments. My SA is not as good as it should be and i was trying to avenge that transport flying into my gun sight when I was test firing my guns.
  4. i think it was a f6f and i was lower than it so i was looking to the sky, not over the ground
  5. I guess there was more than one of you. but I did see a bogie climb in front of me and then disappear
  6. are you sure that sound mod is tucked out of the way DT?, coz on sunday a bogie was climbing in front of me then it disappeared and the next thing i know i had shots behids me
  7. i saw that concert. lee evans is really funny.

AVG comes highly reccommended you can get it from here.. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/ I have used it for quite a few people and never had any problems with it. I got rid of Norton a few year ago and switched to a Zone Alarm Internet Suite. It uses less resources and has never given me any trouble. It updates itself every hour in normal mode. It comes with a "Game Mode" setting as well which is useful.
  9. that would help some of the dogz, we could say we fly when the little hand is on the left ear and the big hand is on his tongue
  10. Rattler, Our clocks go forward tonight. Ref the dogztime clock. i thought along those lines, a little clock beside our computers would work fine.
  11. How about we invent DogzTime. We all set a clock at home to the same time, no matter where you are in the world, lets say at a given time we set it to 12:00 mid day.
  12. UK clocks go forward tonight (sat 29th) so just to clarify, what times will seow now take place Time Zone
  13. Hi Chris, Yep, by doing as you said and making the change in I.E the problem has been sorted. Many thanks and a great site
  14. sorry Chris, I cant find those settings within firefox
  15. thats really cool chris,

  17. i have just been crying with laughter...it was the irish plane crash that set me off. somethimes i can be like that. something quite obtuse and I desend into a spiral of un controlable giggles. it drives my wife mad.
  18. Would it be wrong for me to ask if I could have her sprawled across my desktop?

  20. ah...the busy I.T department....... nice find gk
  21. Happy birthday fritz
  22. from what i remember it was not too bad. i installed it at work and our desktop machines were never that pokey or spec'd up on the graphics. it was quite fun. all your icons are converted to rotation cubes. you can then drag them around and put them in what ever room you like. i used to have all my "office functions word, excel, powerpoint etc in one room, web stuff in another etc.
  23. I used this for a while, quite cool, can make it confusing for other people to find your icons... http://www.rooms3d.com.sg/
  24. If any of the new guys have not get it yet let me know and I can pick one up for you. I dont mind sending it anywhere (postage charged at cost of course!)
  25. I have a good friend who is a senior aircraft engineer at Heathrow and he has updated me on a couple of things..... You may remember the recent Airbus crash... http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/fligh ... hotos.html Well, he told me last night that the plane was undergoing tests. Sitting in the seat was an engineer who been running some tests on the engines. As he was getting out of the seat to hand over to a flight crew (with the engines still idling) he slipped and fell on to the throttles. It was about 10 seconds or so before he could be physically yanked out of the way and as no one was in the seat, they could not reach the brakes, the rest as they say is history..... On the BA crash at Heathrow... Again the whisper in the hangers is that it was caused by an unusual severe cold weather front at altitude. Other airlines had reported an effect on fuel iceing and requested permission to decend in order to warm their fuel up. The fuel that they use, when very cold develops something known as waxing. the parfin element in the fuel becomes lumpy and can block filters. BA have a policy of not altering altitude apparently. So he thinks that is why the plane became starved of fuel (as it has waxed and blocked some inlet filters) then by the time they were examined, it had all melted and evaporated, thus leaving no trace and nothing to find. One of the engines was turning as the blades have been destroyred in such a way to indicate as much. This seems to bear out the fact there has been no recall / inspection ordered on RollsRoyce engines or a make check on the plane type. If I hear any more I'll post back.
