    Salute To Bg

Salute Sir, Like most of the other guys here, it was you that responded to my post in the zoo about wanting to join an on line group, even though you did enquire if I wore green tights with the rest of the merry men!. You were my first on line line kill, flying where you are still often to be found, low, slow in an Il2 dropping bombs on Russian tanks.."WTF, what are they doing there!" Jim, Jim, Jim...... It was an honour to have you, Helen, Pooka and Joanne visit my home last year. Cheers Friar
  4. A clipped wing Stuka!
  5. Just tell them you want to book 10 rooms but dont say why...schhhhhhhh
  6. Here you go. I am using the Summer On line1 Map as it is light on objects The planes have been set to be heading due south towards the airfield. The way points are just to get you off in the right direction and helped me get the formation right. Any problems, let me know Duxford4101Coop.mis
  7. @Painless Mick, as discussed here are the planes assignments that players will have to pick formation.bmp
  8. As Jabo suggested, there is a another show in September which normally has lots of Spitfires..its the 75th anniversary I have already thrown it out to my wife and daughters about a day drip, and they have said that they would like to join me. Anyone else fancy it? http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.3563
  9. Please find below the well crafted lyrics skilfully penned by Fenrir over recent months (adapted at the last minute by me) to our new Dangerdogz theme tune. Have in your mind the tune to Hey Hey We're The Monkeys..... Here we come Looking out for sheep Fingers hoverin' over Keyboard Control and E Hey Hey We're The D-Ds! People wonder how we get off the ground! We're too busy crashing To shoot anybody down We just wanna drink whiskey Or maybe a selection of ales Lookin for some inspiration To shake the bandits from our tails Hey Hey We're The D-Ds! "20 seconds" is our cry! The Virtual skies are awaitin So come on baby just hit fly! Hey Hey We're The D-Ds! People wonder how we get off the ground! We're too busy crashing To shoot anybody down Repeat until the beer runs out......

  15. Congratulations to all that attended this weekend. Brilliant time.

  16. Home now and all unpacked. Another great fantastic weekend. All the guys were brilliant, one of our more recent recruits, Blue Bear played an absolute blinder and I would hereby like to nominate him for the position of Provisions and Logistics He picked a great spot to watch the show, which I am sure will be demonstrated by the pictures Swep, Jabo and Crash took. He was able to book us into a Curry House (which for some reason emptied soon after we arrived), Find a Fish and Chip shop and order Cod and chips for 15!. Well done Sir. Saturday night was finished off back at the hotel, I gave a Priory of St Oleg meeting, We sang some songs and Rox produced some Eastern European Fire Water which finished us off (did'nt get to bed till 01:15am, and was NOT the last to leave......) I more structured report will follow.
  17. I am not saying we abandon UP 3 as our main flying engine its just at the moment I think we need a "one size fits all" solution. One thing we do have to keep an eye on is the road map for UP3. Hades seems to be moving away from support for co-ops. As that is our main flying activity we are going to have to plan some sort of "mission factory" to convert the vast array (or build news ones) of the ones we have. Consider this. When building a co-op, the designer will generally set a balance, say 8 red and 2 blue (ok, ok, I am a little bitter), the designer will set a balance 8 v 8 in a scenario. At the moment if the player seats are not taken, AI steps in, good old AI (just in time to take your points as well!) Under the dog fight scenario, the number of planes can be limited, however, if no one wanted to fly blue, unless the designer puts AI planes in, which could in turn make the mission totally one sided, there would be no opposition to fly against at all, making it pointless. We need to watch this one.
  18. Following tonights hosting I am of the opinion that we should stick with 4101 as our "official" version. Tonight, we had Pooka not seeing Artie but everyone else did, parafrags not working, the multi crew still does not work.. I think it is important that we have a stable game version so all players can join in and play with no worries. Friar
  19. not at all FT, then if they cause an uproar, I can blame you.....
  20. Any one know why "selected aircraft not created" error comes up on a coop I am looking at up3 rc3
  21. If I can I'll be there, probably a bit later than you starting FT, perhaps I can take over a bit later. Today I have mostly been thinking about icon settings...... I am thinking of trying the following..... FRIENDLY DOT 7.000 COLOR 3.000 RANGE 1.000 TYPE 0.900 ID 0.700 NAME 2.00 FOE DOT 7.000 COLOR 3.000 RANGE 1.000 TYPE 0.900 ID 0.700 NAME 0.500
  22. My wife had her 40th birthday present at that airfield....an hour in a Tiger Moth with the Tiger Club. She flew in G.ASKP. She went up with a pilot called Brendan O'Brien. He has done stuff on one of the satellite channels he was also the preliminary instructor for the tv series about training spitfire pilots. http://www.johnjohn.co.uk/compare-tigermothflights/html/tigermoth_bio_askp.html He did touch and go's at some fields he knew, hedge hopping and then when he came back to the airfield did an aerobatic display, doing loops and barrel rolls. Janet did have a go at flying as well but gave up as she was making them both "sea sick" as she was flying it like a roller coaster. Headcorn was really busy that day with parachutists as well. Even guys going out of helicopters!. I actually thought it would make not a bad half day out, just watching all the comings and goings. Salute Friar
