  1. Every year the company I work for has a must attend corporate day where we listen to the finest words from the great and the good. The day consists of networking and a meal in the evening with accommodation. Previously it has been held at Newmarket Horse racing course, this year they have moved it......to Duxford..
  2. I think that is at TGI Friday's from the look of the uniforms
  3. I'll pass......... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17599230
  4. What version of the game do you fly, we are still mainly Up3 but have stock 4.11 and HSFX is starting to push its nose through the door.......
  5. Hello Smurfy, Many thanks for your kind words. I flew in our little bash and remember it being flown with honour and respect on both sides and had a lot of fun. We run our own MDS server for special events, we are currently doing an internal North Africa Campaign using UP3/RC4 and have just flown week 7. It would be good to discuss perhaps running another inter-group night like last time, we divise a map and then it is flown from both sides. I am sure some of our guys may attend. Saturday is usually when FoolTrottel hosts the UBI co-op night (carrying on from BG's idea to bring the zoo together) sadly it normally ends up being just another Dogz night. I will not be able to take part but wish you every success with the event. Salute
  6. i did the move - make sure you down load the file move utility - worked a treat. It makes a copy of all your files and settings in a packed down sort of version, then when you have installed on the machine you can put it all back. The copy has to go to an external device of course if you are moving from XP. Vista has an upgrade option. but I am sure there are better minds than mine willing to help (i am suppose to working at the moment and not posting on the forum... )
  7. A well known fridge magnet - "Dogs have owners, cats have staff"
  8. Saw this, thought it may have some interest... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10612599
  9. Chaps Although I am at work on that day and not able to attend, you are more than welcome to crash at my place (It will mean sleeping either on the floor or a camp bed/inflatable mattress) on the Wednesday night, head off to London by train (I can get to central London in about 30 mins door to door) on the Thursday, stay back at my place on Thursday and then we all head off in convoy on the Friday. Food and beverages included Priory B&B
  10. Nice Kitty, We foster for the Cats Protection. We have 3 of our own and are currently looking after 1 other and a mum cat + 5 kittens who are now 1 week old. The mum came in pregnant and they were born at our house.

    London Visit

Give me a shout next time, would be glad to welcome you over to the Priory I live just outside London, within easy reach on the train (about 20 minutes)
  16. Welcome aboard M8, Might have to think about your nick as we already have a "zooley", and in the heat of madness, might get confuzzing..
  17. Hi, @Arthur - Its just the box and keyboard+mouse (it does include £20 for a purple box, so the price is a little inflated) I dont think they would be into video editing, so no problem there. @FT - Ubunto not an option. I will pick up office from Software4students for them though. If it is to last a similar time, should I really be thinking about at least duel core? Regards Friar
  18. Hi, A friend who has recently lost her partner wants to upgrade her pc (current one is about 7 years old). I have previously helped her sort out issues on it which is why she has asked me about replacing it. I have had a look on the Dell site this morning and found what I think is a machine that would suit her needs. Kids need it for home work and social media stuff and a bit of simple gaming (has got teenage girls so nothing too heavy) (Inspiron 570mt) My question is about processors, I am a bit out of touch with these. It comes with an AMD® Sempron™ 150 (2.9GHz, 1MB Cache) Where does this sit in the scheme of things, should I be looking at Intel, I3,5, or 7 Obviously budget is tight and the above machine is going for £294 4gb ram, 500gb hard drive Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English 4096MB Dual Channel DDR3 [2x2048] Memory DVD +/- RW Drive (read/write CD & DVD) with DVD Burn software Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200 Graphics Integrated 7.1 channel audio 19-in-1 Media Card reader 500gb (7200rpm) SATA Hard Drive Any thoughts against buying this machine? Cheers Friar

  20. Welcome to the pound mate, first thing we need to sort out, your nickname, how do I pronounce it as in "male -e" in the heat of a dog fight we need to get it right, we have enough trouble when some of our group start screaming like little girls.......... I am here for your spiritual needs. If you feel you need to tell someone about your innermost fears or issues, I am your man. Cash will ensure confidentiality but they may be used if you get on my six ! Hope you stick around and become a regular contributor to our happy little camp. Please check out the Standing Orders thread, if you cant find it, I'll send you a link. It explains a bit more how we like to do things. Cheers and Salute. Friar

  24. Simples... Cricket: As explained to a foreigner... You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been got out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
  25. a zebra crossing is a black and white striped area of a road that is marked up for pedestrians to cross at. A "Humped" crossing is one that has been raised in the road, bit like a speed hump (no that is not in, out, in out, "thanks miss" and leave)
