  1. Ok chaps, panic over. After a nice quiet evening in on my own (wife working, kids at guides) I have now re-programmed it. When I actually looked at it it was not that bad after all. The buttons are all marked, the only thing I had to work out was which hat was 1, 2 and 3. having done that (#3 on the throttle, #2 is top left of the joystick and #1 is in the middle of the joystick) The only thing I have had to do different is the one for centering track ir. Tir did not seem to recognise the hat #2 pushed forward, so i have now got "I" as tir centre and mapped that to the hat. If anyone wants any help I can now say been there, done that.............. Thanks for all the feed back by the way guys, Cheers Friar
  2. OT I am not doubting the software, my only "erk" was using the new table to assign key commands to. The old one, as I say, you just clicked on the picture of the button you wanted to program. My issue is, for example,
  3. Following on from some positive feedback by, I think, badaim, I have just gone ahead and upgraded to the new sd6 drivers and new style sst programming software. I have not been able to retain the settings (like badaim said) so i am starting to re-program my stick. My problem is that the new version is all text, not like the old one where you cliked on the button in the graphic and it went to the setting. I suppose this is to make it common to all their sticks. So I am now confused as to how all the buttons match up to the chart. Badaim , if your out there (or any one else thats done it), lend us a hand mate(s), pleeeese! Yours sincerly, disgruntled of Croydon AkA Friar or if this was a post from Painless; ~Stickless~
  4. not before september 2008!
  5. Many thanks Pete, or should that be sir?
  6. Excellent find Dave. That will pass the time of many a boring lunch hour !
  7. I have often thought about the Silent Hunter series, but somehow running a german submarine sinking royal navy ships when my dad was in the navy just does not seem right and often ran the risk of u-boats himself, indeed he told me once of a situation where there were survivors in the sea from another vessal that had been hit but they could not stop because they knew that there was a u-boat in the area. However if there is a pacific version running a us sub sinking japenese tonnage, that may be different.
  8. Thanks guys for your replies. They have helped...I think. @Pete The answer is 1/20. I am confused by what you say in the above quote however. The question states that 1/10 of the 1/2 are left handed not 1/2 of the 1/10
  9. Thanks Pete, but could you explain why you multiply the 1/2 by the 1/10 for me please?
  10. Last night I was helping my 12 year old daughter revise for a maths test on fractions. We had this question: In a school,
  11. lol... i did mean in the back of MY car !

  14. Well some success.. I have been able to re-install office 2003 and access to the .msc services are now ok. however I am not able to install windows updates, the download ok, but wont install, any "tweaks" to enable this? Cheers Colin
  15. chris, i was just typing you a message when you posted. ref your copy with sp2, will that be ok to use (future updates etc) as i get current version older message and creating as slipstreme looks a little complicated, do-able, but complicated. if i could your version it would be easier i feel cheers colin
  16. ok thanks for that, stand by....I'm going in.........
  17. Hi Chris, You have previosly very kindly sent me the xp pro and xp home install disks with keys, so I have them. The machine is a HP and I have the operating system cd that came with it. although on the disk it says it should only be used with the restore cd, when i put it in to have a look at its contents, it did come up with the install xp menu. My plan is to re-install from this disk (although its sp1) and then apply sp2 from a the microsoft sp2 cd. The uninstall routine i found via google but here is the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us The most worrying thing about this is the loss of the .msc routines, the only thing I am now starting to think about is that I recently downlaoded regclean and may have accidently when scrolling down the screen clicked on an entry which has caused this problem, but that is not definate. its 09:40 now, i have a couple of other little jobs to do and plan to start the install around 10:30 so hopefully you will reasd this before then if there is any thing i should not be doing..... Cheers Colin.
  18. the machine IS on sp2, i upgraded via the cd, which went on really easily, no problems. this problem is not connected as i did the upgrade quite a while ago.
  19. I was pointed in the direction of www.showmypc.com by a guy at microshaft when looking at my problem in the above post. it is a free service and seems simple for anyone to use. I went to the went site and clicked on the "show my pc" button. this downloaded a simple/quick little program which generated a password/key. there is another option, which i assume the support guy used which was "look at another pc". i had to tell him the key, which i assume he then entered. and hay presto, he was in. i will try and use it from the support side and post back on its ease of use.
  20. My problem in on my machine at work. I had my recent install of Office 2007 go funny on me, decided the only option was un-install and then re-install. Problem 1. I was not able to remove it via the recommended method of add / remove programs in the control panel so had to go through a long winded method which involed registry edits and deletes. Problem 2. I am not able to run any .msc services. i get an error message saying that i either dont have permission (i do/should) or that the mmc is of a later version Problem 3. After going through the uninstall routine I am not able to reinstall. I just get a message that says set up failed to comple and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Question 1 - I think the os may be screwed in some parts. the pc is working fine for everything else. Can i re-install the os over the top of the existing install. Question 2 - I am on sp2 , however the version of the os disk i have which came with the machine is sp1. a guy at microshaft said that it would be ok, do you agree? any other advice welcome Cheers Colin.
  21. sounds like a "Barny" moment, all together now... "I love You, You love me.......... Top marks for a top man.
  22. No problem sir, glad to pay a little back
  23. Jim, The ship will change direction when you plot a waypoint. You used a moving ship. The rotaion with the keypad numbers only works on stationery objects. When you use the ctrl and left click to plot a waypoint from the object, it will re-orientate to that direction. the numberpad keys will not work in this instance. Cheers Colin
