ok, as you could tell by my constant drivel added to these forums I wasn't really away...but I'm typing this post from my new computer room in my new house... all hooked up and ready to go after living in a hotel for the past 4 1/2 months. still some work to do unpacking and cleaning and renovating, but the important thing is done: scotch unpacked and the gaming computer up and running. Looking forward to d/l 4.08 and participating in DT's Midway campaign. WTF?

this comment came from a geek friend of mine when I showed him Sulky's new computer recommendation...(he loved everything else but said go ATI) any feedback? thanks, "Because I am an ATI fan, I have to recommend that you take a look at the Radeon4870/4890 cards as an alternative.

Hi kind and gentle folks (ok, I think most of you qualify as 'folks' at least). I figured it is time to replace the beast as I've had it for 6 years...and I think it has reached its upgrade limit. Tired of waiting for BoB - and can't imagine anything great will change requirement-wise over the next six months or so till it is out. So, computer literate people...can you give me a shopping list of things I can bring the to the local geek shop to build me a new one. Thanks much as always, Kelly
