  1. I don't know what the programming is like on them. But with the CH pedals I have I assigned the brake axis to the left toe brake, and the right toe brake is mapped to the 'b' key. So I have to remember slow braking with the left foot, and emergency with the right!
  2. My Dad was stationed at the RAF base where they got fighter pilot volunteers from, lucky sods got to fly Spitfires for the film. He recalls one saying how he couldn't get over the experience, and it was far more 'fun' than flying jets... Still makes me green .
  3. I left the registry alone after my uninstall, and have had no adverse effect. Backup the registry Jim, then delete all Firefox specific entries.
  4. You don't need to assign drive letters Colin. PowerISO can mount ISO images as virtual CD drives, you are unlikely to need this. It can also open ISO files as though they were zipped files, and you can extract from them. For you te main use will be to open PowerISO, click 'Burn' , tick 'Image file' (should be only option any way) then click the button to the right with the '...' to browse to where the ISO file is. Then click 'Burn'. Voila! You now have a bootable memtest CD. If you right click the PowerISO system tray icon you can select 'disable' to disable the virtual CD drive option.
  5. Hair grease was indeed in short supply, but working on the flight line he found the wheel bearing grease used by the spits was a good substitute. It also served as a functional replacement for his tin hat. Need an acetylene torch to effect a short back and sides though...ouch!
  6. I had to re-install firefox the other day. When downloading it would freeze until the dl had started. Backup bookmarks to desktop (Bookmarks->Organise->File-Export -- save to desktop). I ran the un-installer, then went in to program files and removed the mozilla/f irefox folder. Then in C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox - remove the firefox folder. Then in C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox - remove the firefox folder. You are now ready to re-install a clean fresh copy of Firefox. Restore the bookmarks folder from back up: Bookmarks->Organise->File-Import -- point to file saved to desktop). In your case Jim you would use ghost to recover the bookmark file to your desktop, then import. You could also delete all the firefox files as per above, then restore from an earlier back up. This would ensure no corrupt files were left laying around (assuming backed up ones were ok).
  7. Drag and drop will not create a bootable cd, you have to go the image burning route. PowerISO is also a very good burning utility, I use it in preference to Nero.
  8. Restoring is pretty much as Chuck said (with Chris' amendments). Look for the whacky profile name (this is a randomly generated name) if you have more than one...then you are in for a little fun! I haven't yet found a way to see which profile it is using... Assuming you show only one, then you use the ghost browser to find the backed up folder and restore it's contents, if you have re-installed Firefox since the backup then the profile name will have changed... This is handy: Mozbackup for FF and TB
  9. I think the difficulty with wheel pedals is they have a very limited throw, making it difficult to make subtle changes in direction. Comparing my Logitech pedals with my CH Pedals proves this for me, although I have never tried to use the Logitechs as rudder pedals. Being able to swing the AC nose gently left and right to pepper a HE111's wing in a hurri is sweet, even if it results in a dead Merlin, oil on screen, and an HE111 flying laughing into the distance.
  10. Good luck mate, and keep your squishy bits away from that bloody hammer. I don't want any more nightmares...
  11. Glad you enjoyed it, I sacrificed my Hurri for that Hearing the 109 behind me firing, and the realistic bullet impact sounds was pretty good - I can see how this could be very immersing. The campaign side of it looks awesome, although I have never attempted it. Engine start up procedure is pretty good too, with the click-able cockpit controls. I'll have to do another vid of the spit, shame the flyables are so limited.
  12. Directx 9.0c update for those that may need it for BoB.
  13. Plucky little bugger wasn't he. Sad he didn't make it, bloody pibulls are a travesty IMO.
  14. I like the Beetle trailer! Weather was pretty crap this weekend, some very nice paint jobs there though!
  15. The recently released patch seems to have finally made this what it always should have been, sadly no multi-player though. But if you want to experience 6 DOF with your TiR, and relish the authentic sounds it is easily worth the $20 it now sells at. This is a very quick and dirty vid I captured, I haven't set BoB up properly, but wanted to share this any way. This is a bomber interception, HE 111's, turn the sound up and enjoy the atmosphere DIVX Encoded BoB short
  16. ~S~ nice m8, Blues is my favourite too. So who's this geezer
  17. Nice, John Malkovitch... What is this from, is it an ad or what? Edit finally got to the credits, viral advertising for IWC watches. Nice budget too
  18. A good session indeed!

    My Bad Eyes

I made the image small to start with while testing before making it 65 pixels square... You will need to do a ctrl+f5 to force a reload, I'm viewing it fine in slick pro. Also think turning off the post groups (newbie et al) is a good idea..looks a bit naff IMO.

    Better now?
  24. ~S~ and welcome August!
  25. I think you are right Chet, even though the power supply is relatively new. Bloody hassle though to get it swapped out under warranty. I'll have to 'borrow' one from one of the other systems in the house to test the theory, there is a small chance it's the mobo but fingers crossed - PSU swap would mean an upgrade if I play it right
