  2. rhyming slang: pork pies = lies
  3. You have morticians on your motorways?
  4. Hmm. So they didn't put the same copy protection on the NA discs....
  5. Hi Artie. Yes it is both, fair to say that the majority of us are using it and our DVDs are snugly tucked up in their boxes . I take it you found it here? Welcome to the pound too m8
  6. Very good . Saw this one there too, totally different message but I think worthy of a mention: http://www.airshowbuzz.com/videos/view.php?v=7455b62d
  7. Done
  8. First class, although I am bound to say the voice acting IMHO really let it down Spot the reversed photo (hint: Steinway) and the record player playing backwards I feel bad offering that criticism, a great project, great music, great 'cinematography', great script...a moving film, but I do think the voice actors really do need to be re-done to make this what it should be.

    help needed!

There are two nForce audio chipsets, one works well with full acceleration and the other doesn't. Your dxdiag will reveal which one you have. Did you un-install your nVidia drivers through add/remove programs, reboot and allow it to detect devices before you installed the later drivers. Or have you just installed audio drivers only? I once experienced something that sounds similar to that which you describe, re-routing the audio cables away from the video cable eliminated it. Then there was the case of my wife's nForce audio board, which exhibited horrible audio distortion. The cure for that was much more drastic, a new mobo which also cured the SATA corruption. I have to concede that her mobo was fried in some subtle way, on the positive side I have two 120Gb SATA drives that I now know are OK . She's happy too as she now has my old SD 3700+, gigabyte PCI-E board and a nice ATI 1950....my back up gaming system
  10. Going to be quite an event - I'll clear up some disc space for the photos
  11. I don't use Panda (Zone Alarm) but I too get the odd desktop switcheroo...
  12. An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave! The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator." Some old men can still think fast.
  13. My what a 'horny' sheep.
  14. i thought it was "Red Bull" that gave you wings...... Red Bull gets you up, the Single Malt is for the return to earth... Yeah I overlooked the radiator, that has a major drag effect. Rudder trim is IMO the most important trim, for speed and gun accuracy, as you can compensate with the joystick more easily for elevator and aileron. It is necessary to constantly adjust trim Doktor, you trim the craft for the speed and altitude, when that changes the trim needs to be adjusted again. Trim on a slider is by far the better way to trim, aside from accusations of 'cheat' it is far more life like than tapping an arrow key repeatedly...and easier to attain correct trim. I use my CH Quad throttle for trim, and would not use anything else now to be frank.
  15. Depends what you are flying And where of course. We use CEM (Complex Engine Management) so informed usage of prop pitch and mixture is required, where appropriate, and the right supercharger setting for the altitude. Also fuel load out is a consideration, as is ordinance. One final item is WEP, and the fact that others may be using 100-110% throttle. There again it may be that you are simply too heavy for the AC
  16. Hmmm. Very odd Dave, and your route is a little circuitous too Chris:
  17. What is the IP for the warclouds server? Unfortunately we have to live with the routes we are given, there is no way to 'pick' or force a route. It may be that Virgin are replacing hardware, and we are getting alternate routes whilst the upgrades are being done (using backup or alternate routes). I just traced to this server, and went from London to New York, so the work may be finished... Alternatively it may be using google earth to plot it's course, going from New York to London Google Earth thinks it's quicker to go via the channel tunnel from landfall in France...perhaps the docker strikes of yore have had their impact!
  18. Contra-rotating prop on a Spit: 'Duxford' variant
  19. Thunderbird is now at V2.0, and is better than Outlook Express. Sod to backup though, which is why I recommend Mozbackup (which will also back up Firefox favourites etc.). Outlook 2007 is superior though, largely due to it's added functionality in the calendar section. It is also very slick on the configuration side, automating the account set up for most email accounts including gmail.
  20. I too enjoyed it Monty. And like Delta7 thought the sounds could have been grabbed from WoV, they do indeed add that extra to IL2 and it's crap sound. Had issues getting to the file to start with, the Gamerz Theatre site was struggling it seems. Nice to see they are using Joomla, but I would edit the footer.php file to remove the Joomla statement .
  21. I have Flashpoint too, and the latest offering from them 'Armed Assault' which supports TiR 6DOF. Not spent much time playing it though..a spin off DD Flashpoint squad sounds interesting .

    M.I.A.

Looks like I too will be MIA for a bit. Our mini US invasion has found some UK allies, my own family have now conspired against me and are having a get together on Sunday. Considering the last one was 36 years ago I don't think I'm going to be able to wriggle out of it...
  23. ~S~ Psycho, thanks for checking in. Hope it's gone well with the 'rents Looking forward to seeing you back online in a couple of weeks
  24. That is too say copy the folder above!
