  1. A crossfire board will take an nVidia card, but you won't be able to SLi it with another card. The 8 pin connector is part of the ATX 2.0 standard, and is provided by a compliant PSU not the mobo
  2. Try: http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php/topic,7179.msg59154.html#msg59154 Failing that look at recent posts by Rico (view his profile and you will see a link there) and you will find what he has been doing.
  3. I want BGs upload speed... Just been out and had a look at another house to rent today, guess I have ADSL in my future again...but worth it to live out in the countryside again, I'm not keen on town living with lorries and drunkards after midnight.
  4. Do you have the new virgin 50Mb modem? No I have my 2.5 year old one still...edit: I see your point, what speed is the NIC on the modem? AFAIK Cambridge is still 20Mb tops...will hop over to Virgin site and see what I can garner from there.
  5. It's a slippery slope you have stepped on m8, the on-line aspect has kept me involved and interested in IL2 since 2003, has accounted for a significant proportion of my time, money and sanity too. On the plus side it has indirectly prevented me siring any more children...

I would stick with the single 1Gb personally. Couldn't resist for any longer:
  7. Cool! And you are welcome Andrew

  9. I thought the YouTube one would fit the bill, when you mentioned course work and YouTube and the need to save and convert. Plus it has a very simple interface too, which I thought ticked yet another of your boxes
  10. What GEC says, Mods won't hurt your GPU. It is possible that your fan failed on your ATI card, and this may be what caused the failure. How did you determine the card is toasted? They require a power feed too, have you ruled out a PSU issue?
  11. Yes that is one method, an alternate (same destination just less clicks) is to right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage', then you will see Disk Management..

OK. 1. You want all 8 files in the same folder. 2. Look for and double click AAA_Community_Installer_v1.exe. 3. When prompted browse to your IL2 folder, then click the install button. 4. Wait for it

Which mods have you downloaded Doogerie? 352nd or AAA?
  14. I confess... I bought my CH Quadrant for trim, plus it does prop pitch (and feather too when it hits the detent) I did map flaps to one but don't use it, which leaves one lever unused... Never understood why 6 levers = a quadrant..thought it would be 4! Combined with a CH Pro throttle,
  15. Leave creating partition #2 until after the OS is installed. It will format faster, you can install stuff on the C: drive whilst it formats and you preclude the possibility of Windows putting the boot files on the D: drive (as it is often wont to do). The 8Mb leftover is normal, this is where the partitioning scheme/config is stored.
  16. Yes it used to be in Kilobits (I think). Seeing a 200+ Megabit download made my jaw drop, really impressive considering my pc is connected via a 100Mbit Nic... hmm...
  17. Triple A means you get 4.08 clean, 4.09 clean, 4.08 modded no 6DOF, 408 modded 6DOF, 4.09 modded no 6DOF, 409 modded 6DOF. So you will be able to fly wherever you choose The Dogz Switcher can be downloaded from: http://www.dangerdogz.com/switcher (use Internet Explorer) and it will work with AAA
  18. Install games on second partition, especially IL2. There are methods to move my documents to another drive too, but you have the space to not worry about that. Install office and other productivity applications on C: drive. Re 352 vs AAA. You can do either: Restore your 352nd Modded IL2 game and convert it to AAA or.. Install clean IL2 and download the 9 AAA downloads (8 files = initial install 1 file = update).
  19. But to live in Guernsey, I'd suffer a 2Mb connection for that! (well for a week or two any way).
  20. Curiously my Router reports the same speeds.. Shows what bursts it can handle, sustained is surely not possible.
  21. Partition it, saves hassle in the long run. Whilst hardware failure is rare and total, an OS screw up is less rare. Try with this scheme: 140 Gb to 200Gb for system, remainder for data. Before you put data back on move swap file to 2nd partition and reboot, helps with file fragmentation on OS partition.
  22. I want a refund, my upload speed sucks. Still not right.. More like it.. (I think speedtest slightly over estimated my 20Mb download speed
  23. Hmm. There are macro recording programs (AutoIt springs immediately to mind) that you can use to record macros or key press sequences, and have them played back using a hot key combination. AutoIt would need to run in the background waiting to intercept key presses, but should have minimal system impact. Only ever used it for SysAdmin purposes but I think it would be viable for this, working pretty much the way SaiteK/CH control managers do.
  24. Wow, bloody fantastic, and she has a personality to match.
