  1. Salute An absolute tremendous High Five to @BluBear for giving me the heads up about the "We have Ways of making You Talk" podcast. I have been listening to some fantastically interesting stuff whilst on walks and doing chores around the garden. I would like to STRONGLY recommend the following episode (which will probably have a lot of meaning for those that went to Normandy a while back. The episode is called "Walking The Normandy Ground". It is a chat with a tour guide who has worked the area for a number of years and his enthusiasm for the subject just pours out. Its about an hour, so download it and take it on a walk or kick back with a coffee. https://play.acast.com/s/wehaveways/344.walkingthenormandyground "Its a 10 from me!" Friar

  2. Reviewing this picture, compared to what I saw 5 years ago: Jabo - Looks like you got bigger. Or is it due to you being closest to the Samsung camera's wide angle lens? 1200 pts to you for the shirt! Sid - You appear so much younger, looks like you've lost a fair bit of weight, or is that the wide angle lens again - being further away? Painless - You! Yeah. Well, sigh, Hi Painless! Fenrir - You've lost some of your black beardedness! (But nothing of the awesomeness though!) As for the scenery: 23 and 22 ... Do the math: double the 23, add the 22, +1 for Sweper missing => 69 !! Tips for the photographer: Please a bit more aware of the surroundings and background, some people may get offended finding themselves open on the Internet like this - I mean - really ... ! Just my opinion, for sure!

  5. A Typhoon based on 193 Sqn, Sid's skin. 193 had an Eagle on the tailfin at some point, I have swapped it for a Red Kite because it's my favourite bird of prey. Available in the vault and via Checkskins. Cheerzen A skin by Sid using the official template.

  6. Beauty is in the behind of the eye holder remember Arjen ! Sid does look younger I agree…. As he should do having spent month upon month of solitary lock down, moisturising . Nick looks much slimmer in his vertical striped spring frock and heels for sure. Thomas simply oozes class and “come hither” pheromones which can be tricky when you are trying to stay mad at him. Christoff now has an athletic build with someone else’s legs fitted. As for me, well us simian types tend to line quite a lot as we age because of all the time we spend basking in the tree canopy, unavoidable really. Hope that clarifies the [group?] WHOOP appearance 😉🥴

  7. When i bought my 32inch 4k monitor, at the time, 60hertz was all you could get!

  8. Ok, so, a while back, Nvidia started supporting AMD Free Sync as well as G Sync so as not to discourage anyone with a Free Sync monitor from buying an Nvidia cards. Might need a Displayport cable. Don't know how it stands now but back when I got my monitor, about 2 years ago maybe, the equivalent AMD Free Sync monitor would cost you about a hundred USD less or more. My point is, you can use either with an Nvidia cards but check specific model compatibility no matter which Sync you go with, do your research. I'm running 1080p at 75Hz on a 34 inch AMD Free Sync monitor on an RTX 2060 Super, Intel i7-10700K and 32GB of 3600Mhz memory. 1080p, but 2560 wide (2,764,800 pixels). In DCS on mostly High settings I'm capping out at 75FPS almost constantly. IL-2 BOX Maxed out is pretty much constantly capped at 75fps, I think the lowest it's ever been is maybe 65 but if it even does it's rare. Sometimes on DCS Supercarrier takeoff it'll get down to 45 if I look back while staged to launch but I'm still running an old version of DCS, 2.5 something (too much to download on satellite) so I'm sure it'll run even better with the latest optimizations I believe DCS has implemented recently. I picked up a couple of Lenovo 19 inch monitors for each side and now I can run triple monitor with the 34" ultrawide in the middle, but when I do that it's a video card crusher. Even if you go 1440p I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HUGELY recommend you go for an ultrawide preferably curved if you can but it's not necessary, I get no noticeable edge distortion on anything. They go even wider now but your going to be pushing a massive amount of pixels with anything over ultrawide and it's going to cost $$$$. If you want a deal on something that's not going to kill a graphics card and will look amazing, go with a 2560x1080p 34 inch with as high of a refresh as you can. Otherwise, go for a 3440x1440 and you'll thank me later. Just be aware that's like 4,953,600 pixels so you're gonna want a 3080 ti or better when the prices, IF the prices drop. I'm looking to pick up at least an RTX 3080, probably a ti. I'd love to get a 3090 but the prices are just way too ridiculous right now. https://www.newegg.com/viewsonic-vp3481a-34-wqhd/p/N82E16824117008?Item=9SIA00Y8331378

  9. Two weeks ago I got myself an Ilyama 24" monitor, that was "g-sync compatible" - yep, bit of a risk, but it worked out fine. Nvidia control panel shows it can enable G-Sync, and in game I see 144hz ... so, it works. Euro 217,= was its price. (Connected to 1080ti) Beats the 437 I paid three years ago for same size/specs Acer 24", with true G-Sync support... (Just saying, besides G-Sync and FreeSync, G-Sync compatible exists, and can work)

  10. Personally i would prefer 4k as my overriding factor. But that requires a card that is less common than rocking horse poo. I have been 4k for 4 years now and i couldn't imagine going back. I think I'm lucky though, some people swear they see the difference between 60 and 144fps, be dammed if i can.

  11. Met up at the airfield, myself, Sidly, Nick, Thomas and Christoff were present. A monumental exchange of world changing esoteric philosophical ideas took place at the art deco airfield cafe and bar partially enabled by fine foods and drink. Then we toured the small but interesting museum. Stayed well into the evening to watch a singular two seater Spitfire start, taxi and take off into the sunset at the now deserted airfield. It was emotional. Back to the hotel, then on to a nearby Indian variant. Smashing food , smashing conversation, smashing evening. Few drinks later at the hotel bar then up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire. Not much sleep, (bloody noisy town centre),followed by breakfast and a pleasant drive home. Would not stay at that hotel again by choice tbh. Really great to meet up face to face after all this time though, very glad I went. Had forgotten how facially challenged the DDz are ! 😉😳

  12. I think I'll try and learn Gimp, I've always been curious, and after downloading it it looks a bunch like the adobe version I used to use. If I can't find it to be intuitive enough I'll dig around more looking for my PS
