  2. For those who need a refresher please watch the video linked below. Note the reference to the board markers showing the runway in use and direction of wind, also ideal temps for Oil & Water.

  3. Just a reminder of how can adjust your markings: When you select our home airfield (I do not wish to broadcast its location on a publicly viewed forum - just ask on TS tomorrow night if you are unsure) on the map lobby screen prior to flying, a picture of an aircraft will appear on the upper right hand side, in our case it's a Spit Mk.IIa - we don't want to be flying the Mk.II unless were flying recon, so in order to change the plane double click that pic which will take you to the plane option screen. On the top left hand side of the screen is a bar describing the currently selected aircraft (it'll be the Spitfire Mk.IIa in this case) - double click that box and it will show you all the aircraft currently available to us at our home airfield the Hurricane Mk.Ia (Rotol) 100 octane, Spitfire Mk.Ia 100 Octane and the Blenheim. Select the Hurri or Spitfire Mk.Ia by clicking on the relevant image. The aircraft displayed in the lower left hand side window should now become that which you selected. On the right hand side is a list of options you can use to edit various details. In the 'Type' drop down, change to (or leave as) 'Fighter (early)' In the 'Regiment' drop down, change to (or leave as) '66 Squadron' for Spitfire Mk.Ia or '32 Squadron' for Hurricane Mk.Ia In the 'Squadron' drop down, change to (or leave as) '1' In the 'Callsign' drop down, change to (or leave as) 'Fibius' for Spitfire Mk.Ia or 'Jacko' for Hurricane Mk.Ia In the 'Paintscheme' drop down, change to (or leave as) 'default' 'Noseart' left/right leave as 'none' 'Tailnumber' - this is the individual large alpha/numeric aircraft code letter - I present a proposal of whom should wear what (as in the other SoW thread) so we can ID each other quickly. If you don't like what I've suggested and would prefer a different one then please discuss: DD_APHill - A DD_Artie - T DD_Arthur - H DD_BluBear - B CaptJackG - G DD_Crash - C DD_Eshark - E DD_Fenrir - Q DD_Fruitbat - K DD_FT - F DD_Funflak - U DD_Jabo - J DD_OverDhill - O DD_Painless - M DD_Pooka - P DD_ROX - R DD_Snacko - S Slicker55 - L You can type numbers or letters in this field just remember that numbers will be displayed as letters, with 1=A, 2=B, 3=C ... etc. 'Serial number' - whatever you like (these are the small black aircraft serials just forward of the empennage) Ignore the 'colour' options Ensure the 'Markings' selection box is ticked/filled. 'Weathering' is entirely at your discretion. Hope this helps. Finally, we will all need to be on the SoW's own Teamspeak server to communicate with Ground Control if they are available: IP = 85.236.101.5:10427 password = stormofwar

  4. Ok Slicker, you are 'Green 3' with Snacko & Eshark as 'Green 2' and 'Green 1' respectively. Have you registered your Steam ID? You must have done this else you won't have access to our 'home' airfield (see this post: http://dangerdogz.com/forums/topic/11924-cliffs-of-dover-storm-of-war-server/page-3#entry121736 ) Chet: you take Pooks place as 'Yellow 3'. If you have to abort, then so be it. FT and BluBear are big boys and can look after themselves if necessary! Just try to land the aircraft, even on a friendly airfield that is not home base. Jabo & Fruitbat: You'll make up Blue Section with space for one more straggler who turns up.... Any further latecomers will have to take Hurricanes as we will be out of our quota of Spitfire Mk.1a 100oct by this time - please do NOT use the Mk.II Spits as they are our recon birds. And remember gents if you do come in late don't just jump in a kite and go screaming off into the wild blue yonder; there are opportunities for 2+ sorties depending on enemy air activity and I'd rather us go up in Section strength at the very least - otherwise it's too bloody easy to get ten bells knocked out of you stooging about on your own.

  5. "Bob, I'm sorry. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess: I have been helping myself to your wife when you're not around, probably more than you. I know it's no excuse but I don't get it at home. I can't live with the guilt any longer. I hope you'll accept my sincerest apology. It won't happen again." The man, feeling outrage and betrayed, grabs his gun goes into the bedroom and without a word shoots his wife. Moments later the guy gets a second text: "Damn! I really should use spell check! That should be "wifi".. Sorry!!

  6. Fenrir I use a little different procedure for navigation with the RAF aircraft. I look at the map and estimate the desired course I need to fly and put that in my course setter. I do not use the DG (Directional Gyro). This is a gyro that requires the AC to be running in order to operate and it precesses and tumbles when maneuvering. When I takeoff I turn the aircraft until the magnetic compass needle lines up with my course setter, the t of the needle pointed to north on the course setter. When in flight I'll look at the mag compass and if the needle has moved off of north I'll correct it back to north on the course setter. When correcting just think of the compass needle showing you which way to turn. If it is left of my course I'll turn left to bring back to on course. Another thing trying to use the DG it has to be reset during flight and that can only be done when flying straight and level which can be hard to do when your looking down at the compass and your trying to align the course setter to the compass needle and the next thing you know your in a turn and your needle is moving.
