T_O_A_D Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Nice quality photo's. To think if we could find a pile of wrecks like that now laying around. What fun we'd have trying to make at least one good one. Quote
Kimosabi Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Oh I'd be all over that junkyard like a fly on a horseshit. After attending Funflaks P51 seminar over at JO I'm really starting to fancy that aircraft. Quote
2. Administrators fruitbat Posted February 9, 2010 2. Administrators Posted February 9, 2010 great photos, thanks for posting the link. its amazing how many planes were written off in accidents, also amazing how quick the US built up the bases there. Quote

BadAim Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Some of the guy's were talking about the pictures of the tents with all the bodies around them. They look to me like Japanese soldiers, probably wounded that committed suicide with grenades rather than be captured, hence the mutilated bodies and the shrapnel holes in the tents. This was common practice in the pacific. Awesome photos. Quote
