sound issues

ok, I have a lot of other issues, I admit.

But can someone help on this:

new computer has only on-board sound.

When I go to HD VDeck program to test the speakers, it shows the all work (have 5.1 surround speakers)

The second I start up a program (game, video, internet porn, youtube...) it defaults to solely the two right speakers.

thoughts anyone (beside get a sound card)?

In Windows 7 right click the speaker icon and select 'Play Back Devices'

Highlight 'Speakers'

Click 'Properties'

Set speaker config (5.1/7.1/stereo etc to match what you have) Click 'Test'

If you find speakers don't all work check cables are correctly plugged, often centre/sub can be plugged into side/surround socket etc..
