I'm trying to get a Mig3 (not Mig3U) skin that looks good but I'm having trouble seperating the layers...ie. wtf do I need to do. Obviously I need some software other than 'Paint'.

I've done stuff that puts writing onto downloaded skins but I would like to achieve...

An orange (dark, not bright) dirty skin overall as a 'no markings' bmp that will allow the Russian stars when 'markings on' is selected. I'm assuming that the '60' Dogz d/f ing number will appear as usual...

Sid, I use a copy of photoshop pirated during my tour in korea.

For those who would rather not fly to Korea for their copy of photoshop, I hear that a program called GIMP works very well.

I use gimp and you don't need any plugins or anything to separate the layers. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

this helped me a lot http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/gimp-tutorials/511-removing-white-gimp.html

This will show you anything you will need to know about gimp http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/forum35-gimp/
