December 6th, 1941 - Pacific U.S. President Roosevelt sent a telegram to Japanese Emporor Hirohito that requested intervention "to prevent further death and destruction in the world." Intelligence reports had convinced Roosevelt that the Japanese fleet was headed for Thailand.
