Sunflower
I have a dim memory of Roger explaining to somebody on the Zoo how to, and how not to, uninstall a pci card so that its resources are freed up in Windows. I need to pull a wireless card from my Dad's computer in his office and don't want to screw it up.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted November 17, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted November 17, 2006 I would first un-install the drivers and any utilities it came with, this may be a case of add/remove programs for utilities then device manager to uninstall the device. Optionally you can also open network connections, do a properties on the WiFi connection and un-install the services associated with it, TCP/IP will not be un-installable. Power down and remove the card. When restarted the resources should be free, this can be double checked by going into device manager click view and click 'Show Hidden Devices'. You should not see any entries for the WiFi card left.
