  1. Yep, downloaded them both - which one did you want? ~S~ Jabo
  2. ~S~ CG, Happy belated Birthday m8 ~S~ Jabo
  3. Just so you know what you're getting yourself into Kelly, here's a picture of a Canadian dyke I found. ~S~ Jabo
  4. I've just switched my machine over to three 500Gb SATA HDDs. One for my OS/Progs/Games which is Ghosted onto 10 DL DVDs (I really should have a clean out at some point). The other two are in a Mirrored RAID configuration and that's where I store my docs/work/photos etc etc. The RAID is backed up weekly to another external 500Gb drive via the Firewire port. It's overkill, but I won't run out of diskspace during this (or any other) millenium. In addition, having three backups of my photos means that even a dunderhead like myself would find it difficult to lose all of them simultaneously
  5. You should be able to grab it using a Firefox add-on. If I get the chance I'll try to sort it for you. ~S~ Jabo
  6. Hi asas, I'll PM you my profile later today. ~S~ Jabo
  7. Goddamn it JP - you can't take our staff away like this - Painless won't stand for it!!! :riot: :riot: :riot: :riot: Jabo
  8. I have a similar problem with a client's machine at the moment, damn thing won't POST at all, swapped out gfx cards, psu and memory. Left with processor and mobo (which I don't have spares for) - looks like they're going to need new innards for this one. FWIW a mainboard/processor kit can usually be picked up from most computer retailers at a reasonable price - I'm on the wrong side of the herring pond to advise on who you should look at, but that'd be where I'd be going now. ~S~ Jabo
  9. oops, my mistake - 10000lbs would be about right - at least I was on the money with the Mosquito
  10. Indeed, and I have replied to it
  11. Overkill? Why yes my dear Merdog, of course it is - but when SOW comes out... BWAAAAAHAHAHAHA! Basically I'm looking to future proof this thing a bit, 'cos it's going to be a bit difficult for Mike to drop his machine round to me when it breaks or he wants something added in (right m8?
  12. For 300UKP Nick? Have they got any more? t'other Nick
  13. Hi Col, I have a matched pair of PC3200 512Mb Corsair RAM if you want 'em - free for the asking ~S~ Jabo
  14. Not so sure about this m8, AFAIK the unladen weight for the tbolt was 9000kg and the mossie was 6800kg It's always nice to meet the old guys though. I've always made time to talk to them, and the one thing that nearly all of them say is that you can forget the medals and the rest of that stuff, they just want people to remember them for what they did and why. Amen to that... ~S~ Jabo
  15. Thanks Shadow - I'll need to look into the 200 series cards - we're not stocking them at present so I won't get any discount The only reason for going for 4 GB, was to allow the machine to dual-channel the memory to the maximum the OS can handle (3GB?). Incidentally, as I understand it it's only the 64 bit versions of Vista that remove the memory cap, the 32 bit versions have the same limitation as XP. ~S~ Jabo
  16. Thanks Jediteo. This idea has saved me a bunch of cash and I can now get my X52 instead! In the words of Krusty - I heartily endorse this event or product. Incidentally, I modified the basic model to power from a USB port so I don't need a battery - of course, it does mean another cable attaching me to the 'puter. ~S~ Jabo P.S. I have to build another one, so I'll take some pictures of the build to give people an idea of what's involved.
  17. Hi chaps, Mike and I have been kicking around an idea for his new PC - here's what I've come up with - see what you think - any ideas appreciated. Consider that we're keeping his original case, HDD and optical drives but anything else is fair game. Oh, and I want to keep the price below £600 XFX nForce 680i mainboard Intel Quad Core Q9300 4Gb Corsair RAM (4x 1Gb sticks) XFX Geforce 9800GT (x2 natch) I also need to get him a new PSU (800 - 1000W I think?) and some serious cooling Over to you... ~S~ Jabo
  18. Already bumped into you on ts m8, but thought I'd just add to this thread as well. Welcome back! Now - about your shirt... ~S~ Jabo
  19. Not at all Jim, I'd much rather be proved wrong than believe I'm right and be 'off the beam' as it were. In any case it proves the point that I should have posted the spec rather then be mysterious about it. I'll do that tomorrow - too late now ~S~ Jabo
  20. Thanks Jim, but that's a different model, mine's a core 2 duo. Check the KE111ET#ABU variant ~S~ Jabo
  21. PM sent Colin. I've got a couple of other things to get shot of here if anyone's interested; A brand new (boxed & unused) HP (Compaq) 6720s Laptop - Drop me a PM for the spec Normally retails between £500 - £670 but £400ono to you guys A likewise brand new (factory sealed) copy of MS Office 2007 Professional - we sell this for £470ish (although I've seen it cheaper on the web) - £250ono All proceeds to Jabo's "I need a better PC with a bigger monitor, TrackIR and an x52" fund
  22. Ditto, only just spotted this thread ~S~ Quazi - Happy Birthday m8 ~S~ Jabo
