You can D/L a program called Fraps http://www.fraps.com/download.php There is a free version which is all you need.

It could be that your video card is the limiting factor Check my post in GD and pony up the 3 bills for a X1950 Pro At 1280x960 it will still look a little stretched, but better than 1280x1024. I think you will still need to be sure that your saveaspect line will need to be set to 0

Mobius, That usually means you missed something small in your config.

I don't know if this is old news, but I just found out that you can get an ATI X1950 Pro with 512MB GDDR3 memory for the AGP bus. This could save some of us a bit of dosh as you won't need to upgrade a motherboard/ processor to have a relatively new high end card in your rig.

Okay, Mobius Now that you've decided on a wide screen, there is the little issue of getting it set up in the game. First you will, depending on your video card, need to copy one of the following into your config.ini file. [window] width=1680 height=1050 ColourBits=32 DepthBits=24 StencilBits=8 ChangeScreenRes=1 FullScreen=1 DrawIfNotFocused=0 EnableResize=0 EnableClose=1 SaveAspect=0 Use3Renders=0 or, at a slightly lower (but faster to render) resolution: [window] width=1440 height=900 ColourBits=32 DepthBits=24 StencilBits=8 ChangeScreenRes=1 FullScreen=1 DrawIfNotFocused=0 EnableResize=0 EnableClose=1 SaveAspect=0 Use3Renders=0 The pain in the ass part is that any time you go into IL2 Setup, your config will default to this: [window] width=640 height=480 ColourBits=16 I put a shortcut to my config in the start menu because as I have a dynamic IP I need to go into setup every time I want to play on line. One other thing.

Samsung make nice monitors.

Personally, I'm partial to Dell monitors. I wouldn't buy one on their systems (too much proprietary crap in them), but I have two monitors from them.
