  2. Hay, Skypup, When are you staying over? If you are at a loose end we may be able to hook up somehow. I live on the outskirts of London. regards Friar
  3. Simples... Cricket: As explained to a foreigner... You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been got out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
  4. a zebra crossing is a black and white striped area of a road that is marked up for pedestrians to cross at. A "Humped" crossing is one that has been raised in the road, bit like a speed hump (no that is not in, out, in out, "thanks miss" and leave)
  5. This may be a stupid post but have you tried a different cable. I had an issue once on site where it was the cable preventing a proper connection. Just a thought. Friar

  15. Did'nt the Russians already have that sort of thing, a certain Dangerdogz favourite mission springs to mind............
  16. Sorry to dig up an old thread but I have tried the separate toggle for gear up and down but can only get the gear to come down. Assigning a command to Magneto next does not work I have added the command to a MODS section at the end of my conf.ini Any pointers?
  17. wow, excellent work Pete, I for one did not realise that Mossie pilots had their own beer can rack just below the seat.
  18. I, along with all the Sisters at The Priory would like to wish to you all a safe and prosperous new year. Salute Friar
  19. If they do, it is bound to be under strength
  20. Dino, If the MDS server has no externals on at the moment, that is my fault. It is where I have been testing the settings for the event. I will check this afternoon and if they are off I will put them back on. I am of the opinion the group is NOT heading towards permanent tougher settings for the weekly co-op nights, we just happen to be in a period of testing the newly found settings that are available to us at the moment. Your right that players can set their own difficulty settings for regular nights, its just that once in a while people like to have these events where pilots know that they can work to get on someone's six without them being spotted via an external view. This group is all about getting enjoyment from the game. The vast majority of the time I believe it is played so that all players, regardless of the equipment they have, get to "fly" and have a laugh, it is my opinion that it is only fair that just as the group accommodates the fun flyer, once in a while we also go that bit extra for those that like the settings a bit tougher. The work you have done in building the MDS missions is very much appreciated by the group, giving anyone the chance that wants to fly for a bit on the MDS server and have plenty to keep them occupied. Salute Friar Edit. I have just checked and below are the current settings and as you can see, externals are on. Friar
  21. Hi Zooly, No, these settings are just being tried out as we have only just discovered how to do it! It was always one of Jim's rules that The Dogz have always tried to fly at the lowest common denominator for our general flying to make sure everyone gets to have a good time, for example if someone had not patched up then we would always try and drop down to what ever they had, I have been the benefactor on more than occasion of this rule. Anyone that wants to stick to no externals can do so with their own settings / choice, using what ever aids they have at their disposal. We are however, intending to fly the North Africa event with externals only on the ground plus very short icons just to "notch it up a bit", as these events have done in the past. FT is our main host during the week and I am sure that once we have these new setting sussed, (we had an interesting scenario tonight when I skilfully dived on Sweper and strafed him whilst he was landing killing him but not destroying the plane, he could not go to externals at all, where he should have been able to. Once I had returned and finished the job and destroyed his plane, he could then use externals to look at what was going on, albeit, his own side only,) we will be going back to normal. It is sessions like this that wheedle out such quirks. I am sorry that you feel you were not able to fly with these settings and left before we had a chance to explain. I have already posted in another thread stating that I believe co-ops should remain with "lax" settings and from talking to the chaps that were left last night, the consensus was the same. Myself and the other guys all hope to fly with you again soon and enjoy the madness that is the Dogz. Friar
  22. Thanks Jabo Just been on to the site but it is unable to process my order at the moment, probably lots of people with new pc's buying software! Cheers Friar
  23. Ok chaps, Made the decision that now is the time to park XP, as much as I love it and move to Win 7 (I do have 4gb of ram sitting in my machine after all). My specs are as follows; Intel® Core™2 Duo E8600 (2 X 3.33GHz) 1333MHz FSB/6MB L2 Cache 4GB CORSAIR XMS2 800MHz - LIFETIME WARRANTY! (2x2GB) ASUS® P5N-D: DDR2, SATAII, 2 x PCI-e x16, 2 PCI, 2 x PCI-e x1 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT PCI EXPRESS ONBOARD 8 CHANNEL (7.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) (Realtek) 600W Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan 500GB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7,200rpm) I was thinking of going for 64bit - How can I check if my memory / processor will work with 64 bit software? Anyone see any problems? I know that it is a complete new install from XP by the way.. Friar
  24. Bored...itching to fly but doing big backup

  25. Wow....the full README certainly contains some interesting stuff for mission builders. I would suggest you have a read. They seem to have incorporated quite a few of the UP3 features as standard now plus some interesting new ones.......
