According to reports TOAD, the floats and one engine were salvaged shortly after the aircraft came down and before it sank after a crash landing in '42. The project is being organised by the Flyhistorisk Museum in Sola, Norway. The condition does appear to be remarkable especially given it's inverted position, My belief is it was pretty well down as the reports go on to say that the condition is due to the low oxygen content present in the water. The museum is already in possession of a BMW 312 engine and a pair of floats, which are currently being restored for this project.
