Well my initial impression of the stick itself... awesome... smooth movement, springs and small deadzone. I still can't believe how bad the X52 Pro was. The stick and throttle are like bricks.. heavy and well built. I actually liked the layout of the X52 Pro throttle.. and really was talking to my wife about getting it and the Fighterstick but she said she wanted me to enjoy my retirement hobby. I guess my commitment needs to match having this kind of HOTAS. Still suffering this terrible head cold. I at least wanted to make sure these worked. Also the other thing she got me was the Saitek PRO Flight Combat Rudder Pedals. I really think they are well built as well and nice and wide. So no excuses for me Now to figure out what to bind to what. OverDhill

I was using it last night when I was online with you guys. Need to change the color scheme but it worked fine. Thanks Okay so I think I have what MODS I need.... now how about skins and other stuff? Any suggestions?

Here is the new HOTAS my wife bought me as a retirement gift. Now if I can get over this head cold I could get down to business setting them up. I fired them up to make sure they work but will have to sit down with a clear head and start using the Target software. Anyone else have this set and use it for IL-2?

Thanks for the info... I installed Hyperlobby and tested getting online with IL-2. I had to turn off Expert MOD to join but it did work and I was able to fly around online. How do you get online with Faclon BMS as I didn't see it listed in Hyperlobby? OverDhill

I have been watching some videos by Tanit on Youtube. They are pretty good but at time he seems to assume you know which key to use without explaining them unless he had a video that went over the key functions that I have not come across. Spending time going in and out of the game checking key binds I sure wish there was way to silence that guy at the end telling me how bad I am.. hahaha as it gets anoying OverDhill

Okay I am contemplating creating some popup panels to handle the COM actions for IL-2. Being new and still waiting for my HOTAS to start getting serious about this I was wondering how much are these used in the game? Is it worth putting the time in for a single button action for any communication command sent to wingmen ect. OverDhill

First off I would like to say hello to everyone. I wish I would have ventured into flight sims sooner but better late then never. I was wondering wondering who is playing what these days? So many choices it seems with these new fast PC's and internet connections. I am still working on my setup and will soon have my HOTAS to configure. So is there a thread here that gives a bit of history about this squad and about Blairgowrie. He looks like a cool guy..... With respects OverDhill

Roger that Could you explain what is different in the Expert mode? Well I flew a quick mission with the mission builder and all seems to be working Here is what I have enabled </p>

I was flying non expert and using the one for that with no problems... I will try it with the expert mode and see Always good to have backup copies of IL2 along the way

I finished running the Check Mod app and it fixed a few errors (like a missing fb_3do20.sfs file) but it will not fix the missing 512.exe error no matter how many time I run it. So where can I dowload the correct file? Thanks OverDhill

I will be happy to share my IL-2 skin when I get it finished. I have been watching some video tutorials for BMS. It will get better once I get a decent HOTAS setup. One of the areas I am struggling with is the radar. I understand RWS and TWS somewhat but getting them to work is another matter. In fact there are times when I think my MFD is possessed as it gets into a mode that I just can't seem to get back to RWS or TWS. Also when you use the cursor to move over to the top of the target do you need to press a key to lock it on? So many times people call things different names than what the keybind file calls it making it hard to figure it all out. For now I have been concentrating on IL-2 and getting the Helios skin done. I found myself getting to thinned out trying to concentrate on 2-3 sims at the same time. As for the Samsung UN39EH5003 set I am very happy with the way it looks. One thing I did was to go in the Nvidia settings using NvidiaInspector and mess with the AA settings for the game. That helped a lot if you have a GTX card powerful enough. OverDhill
