it kinda warms my heart when you give mod advice FT!
What FT said is fine.
however, UP2.01 is soon to become obsolete, with the new version of the Ultrapack scheduled for the first week of April, and this will be based around version 4.10.1 rather than the older 4.09.
I would just wait until that comes out and get that, as will we.
for now we're nearly always flying 4.10.1 , so....
best thing to do for now is create a backup of your 4.10.1 install, ready to put the new UP over when it comes out.
What jabo said.
I just converted some missions from a normal offline campaign, into a series of online co-ops which enables others to join in the mission and the comp flying all the other planes apart from the human participants, which 4 of us flew on monday, and bloody great fun it was!
If anyones interested, i'm happy to stick a few missions up tonight, and give HSFX 5 a testdrive, i've just quickly co-op'ed an offline Dgen crimea 109f4 campaign i've been messing around with over the last few days.
we've got 6 pilots now,
Myself, Fen, Mayhem, Squawk, Jedi and Rox.
Squawk and Mayhem, you will need to get HSFX 5 down, myself Fen and Jedi got it and it works fine, Rox is downloading.....
I still think i'll be playing il2 quite a bit, but if the flight models and damage models in CLOD are as a significant step forward as what is being reported, its going to be hard coming back to il2, cause thats what its all about at core level.
that to me is more important than the eye candy, that's just a handy tremendous bonus.
you can do it either way.
personally i have enough buttons on my hotas stuff now, thats its all on that, but for years i used the keyboard for lots of things.
you can map anything to any button you want on a joystick really, in the controls section in the il2 gui.
you just have to find some arrangement that suits you.
@Rox, you can defiantly blow the engine on a 109 using manual badly. Only time i use manual on a 109 is for cruise settings, drops the rpm much more than just reducing the throttle with auto pitch.
we fly with complex management on, but it really isn't that complex, and won't take you long to learn the basics at all. personally i hate flying without that now, because you can't control certain things without it.
we tend to always fly with your own map icon on, so you won't have to worry about nav just yet!
Hi steve, welcome to the pound.
if you need any help getting teamspeak sorted, just ask, someone will get you fixed up
@BG, that link you posted needs updating, but the threads locked, says we're still flying UP2.0
