  1. Welcome Lothar, You'll fit right in I believe. First year of uni is rather relaxed, so you'll have plenty of time to fly...

Remember to bring a sense of humour to the dogz night and you will be fine.

Nice of you to join us.

  2. well Asas

The red or black depends on what compression used.

The force exposure is set depending on what brightness you have and how effective the filter is.

Jabo knows the settings for VX1000 I believe.

If you need any additional help just give me a shout on the dogz nights, and I will assist to the best of my ability.

  3. I can play guitar and trombone, but no concertina. I would recommend going to your local music store and checking if they have any beginner literature (usually plenty). I heard concertinas are rather difficult to play but rather fun when you get used to it.

  4. The other day when flying with the dogs, we came onto the subject of track ir. It seems that some do not have this magnificent piece of sim-goodness

Personally, I do not affort to spend the 150+£ for the track Ir system, so I came across a software called Freetrack.

It is very similar to track ir, utilising the tracking of LEDs with a webcam. With the LEDs you can have 6DOF, which works perfectly in Il2.

    All you need is

    A cheap webcam

3 IR LEDs (can be bought from any electronics store)

    A soldering iron

A ballcap (or you can fashion a clip to attach to your headset)

    Some small cables

    A battery (I use a 1.5 v AA battery)

If you want any help, I am more that happy to help you.

It is rather easy to create (took me about 1-2 hours)

and it is considerably cheaper (build my setup for about 20£, and that includes all material)

  5. I've heard the the swedish pilots were overjoyed with the viggen, as it was a significant improvement over the Draken. Both are very very pretty planes. Amazing sound when the Viggen reverses.

BTW Viggen mean either a thundebolt or type of bird (the Turfed Duck)

Draken can mean both Dragon or a kite.

  6. Baileys (or other somesuch liqueur) with either scotch or bourbon. Nice and sweet, but with a fiery finish. 20 seconds is a quite a good name for it.

Jim Beam would be rather good for the whisky part.

Johnnie walker black label (red is nice aswell) for a somewhat mellower taste.

It is sweet in the beginning, as the sweeter tones of the irish cream (baileys) touches the sweeter parts of the palate, then followed by the fiery taste of whisky.

Somewhat similar to death by fellow a danger dog during 20 seconds.
