  1. Harrier probably the loudest! Argentine airforce Pampas II jet trainer. View from the cockpit; http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YFO4tjsy2G4 I've seen 'em fly lower.......but only underwater..............
  2. My first thought would be they were being beasted by 1C to concentrate on the sequel and were under orders to do the minimum to CoD, and everything they did for Cod was dictated by the loudest community voices asking for Su-26's etc. I agree with the first bit Bongo but those constant moaning voices constituted 0.0001% of CLoD sales and no-one in Moscow seems to have been able to read the 1C English forums anyway. Why scrap it when we know lots and lots of work had been done on the sequel - after all 777 team seems to be using a lot of it - and then turn round and go into a deal with 777 to make the sequel? 1C management obviously still have faith in the IL2 franchise as a money-making project. They've stumped up more cash to fund the 777 effort. Bizarre. Does Roman Abramovich have a stake in 1C?
  3. I know this is probably a silly question but if a small bunch of disparate guys all around the world can fix the FM's and make it work at high altitude, what on earth have the CLoD team of fifty or so, all together in Moscow, been up to?
  4. 'Kin 'ell!! Check out those bingo-wings!
  5. Good eating, lol. . Some of the locals; Comment from the photographer is brilliant; “I was shooting in Papua New Guinea for the BBC’s landmark documentary Human Planet. I randomly met these guys in the forest near a local singsing ritual. We couldn’t understand each other, and I don’t know anything about them, who they are, or where they came from…”
  6. Wow, look how clear that water is. 50m down? Thats mixed gas territory and Papua's not quite on the holiday trail yet so she'll be safe for a while............possibly.
  7. Hello John, nice to see you here. I think there is some sort of application process to go through to gain access to our deepest secrets but I'm not quite sure what it is these days. However, I'm pretty sure part of it was to do with having a VERY big screen so you would seem to be o.k. on that front! I'm sure someone more Compus mentis than me will come along shortly and sort you out.
  8. Meanwhile, interesting and unusual pieces of WWII history are still turning up on our shores http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-21079285
  9. No Spitties buried in crates all these years? Quelle surprise!! Ah well, it was good fun while it lasted. However, every story has a silver lining and in this case they are; a) I will not have to eat my TrackIr hat and, If I recall correctly, Painless now owes BadAim £5 - to be handed over at Duxford.
  10. Hello Faustnik m8, Nice to see you here. It's about time we got the Dogz together for some CoD again. Nice fish btw!! Welcome
  11. Dr. Strangelove? One of my favourite films I think it was trouble with my precious bodily fluids that made me get up in the night in the first place! Edit; strange. seem to have lost the ability to embed youtube vids?!
  12. Couldn't sleep, came down in the early hours and found this on YouTube........... http://youtu.be/djqlAT-7be4 I never knew this had been made. Intro. by Walter Cronkite and first broadcast LIVE!!!!! on CBS as, effectively, a stage play in 2000. Absolutely outstanding production. Ironically, I first came across the novel "FailSafe" in the Corps modest little library at Innset in Northern Norway about thirty years ago where we trained to stop the Russkies, etc. etc..... Also, the original 1964 film directed by Sidney Lummet and starring Henry Fonda as the President. http://youtu.be/ReSPnEWi3o4 Neither make cheerful viewing but are both completely gripping.
  13. Chains are cheap as chips. Gears = casting, machining, expense. Pretty cool though. Isn't this from the people who make the driving simulator? Here's a promo of that starring the three guys who come round and install it for you.

  17. Lol, never mind Friar. You had a go and that's what counts. Can I post you my spare copy of CLoD now?
  18. Watched this on the news on BBC1 tonight. Must be getting close now, they were unwrapping shiny refurbished Merlins by the look of it. @Jabo; was that the tail fin of an early Halifax their brother was standing in front of?
  19. Ah, I see........I think. Not quite sure what that proves as here; we have the CoD map as a winter wonderland. With a bit of digging I can give you the CoD map in it's desert guise. Sorry, wallets staying firmly down the crack of my arse where us Scots/Yorkshiremen prefer to keep it! (drink, anyone? ). Apologies for thread derail too.
  20. Indeed! This year I have a full-time income once again and I've warned all the members of my immediate family that they're not to die in early July!! Fruitbat is gonna' have to remind me why I owe him a pint? Has he won a fugley contest?
