  1. Tell him to get himself registered on the forum then put on a post introducing him and BG and co will do the rest. Simples!
  2. Works for me - framerates are significantly better. Thanks to Fruity and Jedi Jabo
  3. Yep, it's the only complete example. Due to be raised and preserved (NOT rebuilt) at RAF Hendon (In the new 'Beacon' building) '
  4. Hurrah! Roll on July! Jabo
  5. Delta, PM me, I have a way you can get a really cheap copy of 7 (totally legit too). Jabo
  6. I've switched it to 8x in game and 16xQ in the nvidia control panel. Looks ok to me but what do I know... Jabo

Hello GK, and no sadly it wasn't. Interesting that the tech will enable me to post into the forum from up a 14m pole - lol

    Hello

Welcome (if a little late). Good to see you online tonight. Don't forget our annual get-together is on again at Flying Legends (IWM Duxford). I'm guessing you've been before, but it's a howl new experience with the DDz! Jabo
  10. When you add to that the fact that a good proportion of the group don't yet have machines capable of getting respectable framerates out of CloD, we'll definitely be on '46 for a while. Jabo
  11. Unfortunately grass v2.0 is not fully backwards-compatible with the earlier grass v1.5.1 as supported by XP. Jabo
  12. I used it extensively in my previous job, I really liked it for certain applications (like hacking windows accounts) and the fact that you can run it from a USB memory stick makes it ultra-portable. The important thing to bear in mind is that it will not run windows apps, although there are a lot of open-source (free) applications which covers a lot of bases (OpenOffice for example). What were you considering using it for Snack? Jabo
  13. Yep, they're lucky to still have her after the mid-air engine fire which grounded her a while back. This and a B-24 are two BIG reasons for wanting to do (probably) Chino in the next couple of years. Lovely find Snacko - she's a beaut. Jabo
  14. Well, I can't say I'm surprised that some people are kicking off about the game if the whining beforehand was anything to go by. Yes, there are issues (see Vista), but the guys at 1C are obviously taking them seriously and working hard to resolve them. I wonder how many of the whining community are long-term Il2'ers who have seen 1C approach to problems in-game before. I suggest 1C give them their money back, ban them permanently from 1C and ubizoo forums and they can go play whatever the flavour of the week FPS is. Jabo
  15. Erm, not quite Mayhem, the DDz Steam group is indeed invite only, but only to prevent people outside the DDz from joining willy-nilly. What I said in the post announcing it was if you let me know your Steam ID I will send you an invite. The more the merrier! Jabo
  16. Glad this is working out for you Kev. Jabo
  17. Hi Jim, this may help Once you've logged into Steam, click the community link (it's highlighted) as below. This will take you to your community home page - yours will probably look different to mine, but no matter. Immediately below the community link, there are a number of other tabs, Home, Profile, Friends, Groups, Invites, Games. Click on the Invites link and you should see a number of invites awaiting your attention. Jabo
  18. Use the friends drop down menu (top left-hand corner). The Add Friend option is in there Snacko. I'll have another crack at adding you in when I get home tonight (while installing a version of CloD I can understand with any luck). jabo_dd (case-senstive) is the account I'm using to administer the DDz group, so that's the one to add if you want access to the group. dd_jabo on the other hand is my primary account and the one the international version of CloD will be installed under. Jabo
  19. Don't worry Jim, I've added you into my friends list and sent you the invite to the group too. You'll find two invites waiting for you when you next log into Steam, one for joining my friends list, and another for joining the DDz group. Jabo
  20. No. DD_Jabo is the account the UK version will be installed with, Jabo_DD is the temporary one for the Russian version and the one for controlling the group. Jabo
  21. Use the link in Sid's post to Kev's tutorial, that'll tell you everything you need to know. Jabo
  22. Have you created an account on Steam yet? If so, just search for jabo_dd and add me to your friends list. When that gets to me, I'll be able to see your ID and send you an invite to the group straight back. If not, you'll need to install Steam first. Go here and click on the Install Steam button (it's in the top right-hand corner). You'll be taken through the account creation process as part of the install. Then add me as a friend and I'll do the rest. Jabo
  23. Bugger, used to live under the approach & 5 mins from the airport.
  24. That's good news Jim, what's your steam ID? Jabo
