If possible JP, it was a pretty good location last year. I doubt we could get into the one at Duxford now (which I would prefer - less travelling - but, meh). I hate to ask, but is there anything you can do? It would really help if we can get everyone in the same place (even though we 'lost' FT in the hotel... ) The Red Lion/Holiday Inn is out for regular bookings as they're taking the p**s again. £340 quid for two nights?? I'd rather sleep in the car. Jabo

Or alternatively, find a retailer prepared to sell you the OEM version as that will provide you with a key and media without paying the premium of the retail box version. I bought the OEM version of win 7 home premium for my dads pc and paid about half the normal retail cost.

I think I'll stick with my 580 for the time being - that was expensive enough and I've yet to find anything that pushes it hard. Jabo

I use a pair of LG DVD-RAM drives for a few reasons 1) They're SATA 2) They're reliable 3) They're cheap(ish) 4) They come with a black bezel so match the rest of the case. 5) And two in case one breaks down I try and alternate between the two drives to even out the wear. Jabo

That is true Crash, but I assume it can be 'switched on' otherwise. In aircraft like the razorback P-47 though I would (like TOAD) shift my head position until the iron sights line up. Jabo

Had a most unfulfilling conversation with 'Becky' at the Duxford holiday inn today. They won't do us a group deal due to the airshow being on and they are charging a flat rate of £179 p/n which would be doable for me if sharing a room, but is way expensive otherwise. Sorry chaps, but I'm out of ideas. JP? Jabo P.S. no good contacting the red lion either, all their bookings are being handled through the hotel reservations line.
