Deadzone and acceleration. You need to configure an area in the centre where small movement of Physical head = zero movement of virtual head. Then configure acceleration to ramp up to left and right (same for up and down) so as you turn more the TiR interprets faster. You are looking for a curve profile that resembles the cross-section through a saucer...strewth a picture really does paint a thousand words!
