  1. An Irish priest was transferred to Texas .. Father O'Malley rose from his bed one morning. It was a fine spring day in his new Texas mission parish. He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside. He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the local police station...... The conversation went like this: ''Good morning This is Sergeant Jones. How might I help you?'' ''And the best of the day te yerself.. This is Father O'Malley at St. Ann's Catholic Church. There's a jackass lying dead in me front lawn " Sergeant Jones, considering himself to be quite a wit, replied with a smirk, ''Well now Father, it was always my impression that you people took care of the last rites!'' There was dead silence on the line for a moment........................................... Father O'Malley then replied: 'Aye, 'tis certainly true; but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin.''

Really weird.. I have never had a problem with this software of that nature, my posts always appear instantly when I post them! Can you give some more detail, as this may indicate a bug? What browser are you using? Typically how much time lapses between your starting your post and hitting the post button? I will have a look at your settings too.

    A Few Problems...

With Windows 7 always right click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator' Ditto when you run the app, you can modify the shortcut and select it to use 'Elevated Privileges'. I found this to be the case with my CH software too, as it emulates a keyboard Win 7 neutered it. WIth TiR I was unable to get it to centre the view unitl I modified the shortcut

  6. This gives it context: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/03/13/world/asia/satellite-photos-japan-before-and-after-tsunami.html Third largest economy has been hit exceedingly hard, and I think recovery will be a long haul. Going to be a global impact methinks.

The Beta I can host here, locked down to DangerDogz only, will help perhaps. When it is released I will provide a mirror (or 3 or 4 if needed) to help spread the goodness. Can also make a torrent seed too PM me the ftp details please and I can ftp it directly to this server for the guys. Rog.

Oi! This software cost us, you leave our editor thingy alone If this HFX5 is a large (aren't they all) download and can be got by torrent I can pull it onto the server and split it up if required..
  10. Shocking, and no pun intended. Thank goodness they are well prepared, but the news of 2-300 bodies found on the coast is terrible news. And the missing ship with 100 on it. Thoughts are with them.
  11. Shorten it to 'Enk' It means Big Enk, 1=i (I) 6=g (G) a play on substituting letters for numbers
  12. I add my vote in for more RAM, what RAM does your system use? I may have some spare if it is DDR - got loads

Yep so much faster than the old host.

The server we are on can shift a major amount of data!

  15. Not had an issue with Steam for years. Works well and is a boon for keeping stuff up to date, plus the cloud concept is handy too - for the games that support it. My Steam folder is 101GB...which says a fair bit I reckon. Black Ops Jabo, now that was an over hyped POS if ever there was! I played it less than 10 times, utter drivel..
  16. I use Steam, find it works well and minimal overhead too. Has some nice functionality it provides, aside from updating software, such as ability to add in friends and get notifications when they are online, and be able to IM them. It does allow an offline mode too, so a permanent connection is not required. Will have to look into adding Steam IDs to the forums now
  17. cLod..oh well.. 'bout time I got with the times it seems! Glad to see IL2 has some mileage yet

Hmm. Performance here is not brilliant, another reason why I am keen to move us off the server here. Possible that there was a database time out, nothing in the logs to that effect, but it has been known more than once or twice in the past.

Not come across this either.. What browser are you using? I usually use Chrome..
  20. I ask the question because it occurred to me that time and effort is still being put into IL2, with Mods and SEOW campaigns etc. If Cliffs of Dover turns out to be anything like what I have so far seen, by way of screen shots and videos, I can see IL2 being left to gather dust mostly. Sure we have a much greater selection of aircraft, and missions etc. but won't CoD draw us in and totally occupy us for the foreseeable future? Would love to know more detail on the online aspect, such as DF hosting and campaign/co-op hosting too. Is it likely to be more *nix friendly thus enabling easier permanent DF servers?

  22. The best protection is education. Firewalls are to prevent opportunistic outside attacks, and to ameliorate lack of education from within the protected zone. Advantage of a hardware firewall over a software firewall is that they offer some insurance against lack of education, they don't put up convenient prompts asking if it is OK to allow this sort of traffic when something unusual happens. Security suites such as Kaspersky have plugins that work within the browsers that have blacklisted malware sites, this helps with the education issue too. A good suite will also have access to a database of applications and ports, and give some insight into what that application is and what it's trust rating is based upon user based collated data (again Kaspersky has this).
  23. If that is a true copy and paste, then that gives it away. Definitely searching out drag artists
  24. I was at my bank today; there was a short line. There was just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars. It was obvious she was a little irritated . . . She asked the teller, "Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?" The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations." The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people too"
