  1. For a moment then, I thought this was one of your light hearted posts.. Hey.. I'm a veteran of 2 now, first for me too was el supremo bitch in training - she ended up surpassing all expectations. So we ain't going to Dubbo round here any-time soon
  2. Done. As will he no doubt, eventually, crap strike that. Marriage can be a beautiful thing.. especially when you are an observer loaded up on the free booze OK joking aside now. I wish them both the best, a marriage of Army and Air Force is going to be interesting!
  3. The 4890 arrived yesterday Ross, thanks! Now I've got to do the transplant
  4. I have a G25 wheel, daughter has hijacked it for her PS3 Need for Speed sessions. That Race07 series looks pretty good for an old 'un, and only £16 or so too on steam.. hmmm.
  5. It's running on Linux Todd, the problems I had before were getting FBD running - largely down to the Java aspect oddly enough!

    Sad But True..

Damn, sorry to hear this too Ovy. Your mates are here for you, your wife needs you more than we do..
  8. Well our Dedicated server is UP3 RC2 as of yesterday. I thought the MDS was also a client side mod, and if you set your system up to host a DF it will be a moving DF.. so only one instance of IL2 needed. Otherwise it doesn't make sense, running dedicated and client on the same box..
  9. I think that meant use the MDS mod, fire up your game and host the DF. Not a Dedicated MDS as such..
  10. Right click the folder and select Properties Jim. Alternatively have you tried running QMT as admin? You can modify the shortcut to always do that, and it may resolve this for you.. Again tight click the shortcut, select properties. Click on the 'Compatibility Tab' Check 'Run this program as an administrator' at the bottom.
  11. Where are these missions on your hard drive Jim? Were they restored from a backup, or did they remainn on the drive from a previous windows build? Reason I ask is that the 'read-only' attribute is a known Windows 'feature' and is usually ignored. You can try running attrib -r -s c:\your_il2_folder This could be a file permissions issue: My bin folder for example: Security for users, note read only so no editing: Security for Administrator - full control:

Still don't understand why people use RAR.. 7-Zip!! You could just rename to mindump.dmp.txt and it'll allow you to attach I'll load my debug tools and have a look for you.
  21. ... playing God Save The Queen
  22. So rename the launcher? Is that a workable solution? Tried.. it fails to load the real IL2. Sounds like the FOV is indeed looking for IL2fb.exe and attaching itself, quite a common hook application method.
  23. Was so good he said it twice
  24. Most people nowadays think it improper to discipline children, so I have tried other methods to control my kids when they have had one of 'those moments.' Since I'm a pilot, one that I have found very effective is for me to just take the child for a flight during which I say nothing and give the child the opportunity to reflect on his or her behaviour. I don't know whether it's the steady vibration from the engines, or just the time away from any distractions such as TV, video games, computer, iPod, etc. Either way, my kids usually calm down and stop misbehaving after our flight together. I believe that eye to eye contact during these sessions is an important element in achieving the desired results. I've included a photo below of one of my sessions with my son, in case you would like to use the technique... SHOULD WORK WITH GRANDKIDS ALSO.
