Hi, guys. This is my take on foothold missions that we do in our evenings. They are a lot of fun. With persistence on, which auto saves as you go. There's so much to do for everybody and we work as a team, to take hold of areas and then quickly have to Support them by flying a helicopter or a HERC over, before it's taken back by red. ( and they can be aggressive) The AI are set form excellent to veteran. We play the missions with no Icons which makes it more challenging and immersive. Sometimes it's very intense. Lots of air to air. That's where we need to work together, air cover role is so important as for Ground pounding, as for support roles such as helio or Herc. Leka Who makes a variety of footholds from the previous originals(by DZSEKEB) updates them regularly and he's very dedicated to keeping them running. We have done most of them to the end capturing all areas, with great difficulties at times. Now with Squwak, we are continuing to do foothold missions along with other missions Modern and WW2 scenarios which Zukker, myself, and Sheriff create to keep it fresh. I will try my best Colin. Wife has a eye doctor appointment and it falls on Dogz time. She has an on going problem that has come up while healing up from cataract surgery. I have been driver to a string of Doctors see is seeing, the wait times are average 2 to 3 hrs. I would love to join you will try my best.

@ Fen, I know a lot of folks do not like Mods and rightfully so, But 8ball and Tobi are Two of the best quality Modder's in DCS. Fortunately when DCS updates and effects the sim with their mods , they are quick to always find a fix. Their Vietnam pack is very very good, one of my favorites.

Well Colin that sounds like a great idea. Although it always great if we can choose what we need on the fly for a mission situation at hand on the fly. Pretty most of the weapons available for each helio or jet. Although there may be some that are not practical or effective. Harpoons seems to be one type but, there is enemy sea vessels that have to be neutralized or eliminated. I love the idea thou.

Yes Colin I left everything as is. The helicopters can be swapped for to what ever needed and more accurate but the group names must remain the same. The mission its self is Hugh and running it under a host PC may be to much or some mod we use is causing the crash. Best to try with no mods and work from there also best to run it under the dogz server. I been hosting it with no problems. Thou sometimes it has shuddered on me in VR with a compete reboot required. Pancake should be fine.

You also could use the Expanded Syria Foothold mission which cfrag recommends. It has everything plus you can add any module you need. Players can split up into groups to do various mission in different zones, at the same time working all for the same common goal.

I love this kind of scenario. I have been hosting a on going Expanded Syria Foothold PERSISTENCE mission for a couple of weeks now, and the guys and myself are having a blast with it. We capture and defend resupply airfields while advancing. Mission gets more challenging as we go. When successful at killing a Aircraft or Sam Sites, survive and land back at base, you accumulate credit points and can put them toward a planned strategy. Dead or Sead strikes, Tomahawk Strikes, Recon or what ever strategic move is required. Missions are saved as is every ! minute. Next time the mission is put up it resumes at the same state we left it. Very cool and excellent way to work together not take chances and get home and survive. Working together and protecting one another is key. Its a major undertaking to create one of these missions My hat is of to you Colin.

Colin if you can add the Hercules Mod for us to fly in to drop supporting paratroopers in the areas that need to build up (battle support) or aid in building up new fraps built up with Sam's, equipment, vehicles, personnel's and stores. (Good one for Sid)

3rd party one that has a chip built in it, that cable to the headset then PC, which then you plug in the headset charger into the chip then regular electrical wall input for a continuous charge. Other words it will start to depleat the battery as you play while it slowly charges it at the same time.Thus making game play much longer. This has many advantages 1) if you play a long time with a regular plug in cable it depletes the battery faster, also you don't what to deplete very low all the time which will weaken the battery it time. 2) use of the chip cable gives you longer play time at a safe and less depletion of the battery. 3) Reg cable will cause quicker wear and tear on the headset small USB because dumb design flaw constantly unplugging and plugging to charge the headset. With the power cable, plugged in and forget. Picture below
