  2. Bit of a challenge for you chaps This is a piccie of the cockpit and occupants of my current project.....very much a work in progress as all 3 figures need extensive working to get them in and filler but it's a start. Can anyone guess the aircraft type I'm building, name the real occupants represented by the plastic figures and the situation that put the real people together in the cockpit? For fun obviously as I can't offer beer as a prize very easily..... Cheerzen

  3. Thought I would drop in and show you my latest/current build. This has fought me all the way, have had major fit issues, so much filler used here, but finally getting there. Finished spraying the mottle last night. I am not following the mottle markings on the instructions exactly for the markings I am using. This build has primarily been a practice for mottling as it is my first mottle job - so havent been as petty about exactly matching the historic markings as I usually am with my other builds. Once this is done, my first NMF is being attempted with Trumpeter's P47D. Also my first Trumpeter kit. Last/previous build was the amazing Airfix 1/24 Typhoon👍 The major problem I have - is I have nowhere left to put my built models 😭

  4. Now if one takes the pic as the real deal... one would finish up with a Bw/grey scale model! Cools!

  7. I take the pic as the real deal....it is one of a few taken at the time. The raid was acted out some time afterwards using a different unit, much to the annoyance of the original raiders, for the benefit of cameras and propaganda but one thing I am fairly sure of is that they didn't load up a Storch again as they did the first time....it was an extremely hazardous take off first time around. SJ+LL it is.

  8. I'll be ready today. "Painless" Not being a smart azz, and I don't think I'm wrong. An officer called skipper in the US Navy is a Colonel, in the Marine Corps he/she is a Captain. US Army could be different, I'm not sure. So Major Fen would not be called a skipper I could be wrong, I've only been wrong once before when I thought I was wrong.

  9. Wikipedia says SJ + LL and having looked at various versions of the photo above, I'm inclined to agree. Of course, this is taken from footage 'allegedly' shot at the time, but there's nothing to confirm this is the actual aircraft.
