  1. Today
  2. I think it would make sense to limit the loadouts of the fighters to encourage playing bombers. It would be nice if only bombers had bombs and the fighters are purely air to air. I haven't looked at it but if the 51Ds have 150 octane it also would be more fair to remove it as well because the G-14 is not on par otherwise Just my two cents here
  3. Thanks mate we will try it out tonight
  4. On your pc the mission was created/saved in the 'Multiplayer/Dogfight/Campaign tester/' subfolder, that subfolder is missing on the server. To fix it: Either create that folder on the server, and put the mission files in there. Or re-save the mission to the normal 'Dogfight' folder on your computer, then transfer it over to the server. Or edit the .list file and remove the 'campaing tester/' folder reference from all the lines in there. In this case I applied the third option. It should load now.
  5. It is a great looking map Delta. I am sure it will come to give us many hours of missions
  6. I have purchased the cold war Germany map in case we can do this
  7. I'm not sure ft, I can run it on my pc but get a file transfer error when I try on server, mission is called all flags defences if you want have a look
  8. What issues are those? Anything I can do?
  9. Ok still have issues hosting this on server but I have copied the map here so you can see the plan of action. My only reservations so far are 1) we need people to man the tanks,( I dont know if the guys from 352nd in our team plan to do this) 2) The bf109 can only carry one 250kg bomb whereas the P-51 can carry two so each of their planes has double the capacity of ours.
  10. Monday 2nd June Last night for a change of scenery, myself Fenriir and Max kicked off a new Foothold campaign based on the Syria map. The scenario opens with us flying from Akrotiri or from the Carrier. These are the only Blue operational bases. The first phase objective is for us to secure Cyprus before we can attack the mainland. This campaign is the latest version and has new features such as naming pilots that they are going to hunted down in response to actions they have carried out. For example Max attacked an airbase and then received a message to say that "Squeeze has been targeted and a flight of two have been scrambled" Fen also got a similar message for one of his war atrocities... This will not replace the Caucuses Campaign which is still on going, but gives us the option for a change if we feel like it.

  12. Yes Collin you can. It will auto save in the same Saves folder you have for the Caucuses foothold you have now. You can alternate between the two or three or more if you wish.
  13. That would be really fun! I prefer the era of primitive heat seeker and semi active radar guided missiles. A mission with less long range SAM sites and more close range AAA would be very cool where the targets are moving convoys and tank columns
  14. A Foothold campaign on the Germany map is being tested at the moment. Needs everyone to have the map of course....
  15. Might be fun, could we explore cold war ish era scenario?
  16. @wingflyr - Can we run two campaigns at the same time? I mean alternate weeks (to change the map and mix up the flying experience)?
  17. Thanks FT - beat me to it
  18. Thanks for keeping those that couldn't participate up to date. Looking forward to our Monday session 🫡
  19. @delta7 I can totally understand your frustration with the matter. Flight sim game devs seem to have forgotten how to write proper code without breaking the game. I am still completely convinced that this bug that's causing the crashes has something to do with one of the previous patches. I'm sure they introduced a bug into one of the events that mission makers can use to trigger an action. The combat box admins also couldn't get their generated missions fixed despite rolling back to a version that was completely stable last year. Unless the devs pull their 💩 together and investigate their code base with the whole team I don't see how IL-2 can survive long term. But maybe it's a devilish plan to ruin the old game so everyone has to buy their new games (Korea and somewhere in the future Pacific). Just kidding, I fear it's sheer incompetence on their end... Once Combat Pilot runs stable and hopefully steadily receives updates, I'm the first to abandon ship and switch over. The current situation is a slap in the face of every WW2 aviation enthusiast to be honest. War Thunder clearly shows that there's interest in WW2 aviation games, but people expect a bit of stability and quality of life features in their games, combined with affordable pricing (looking at you too, DCS). So everyone and their friends stick with that one 🥲 Sorry for the venting. Apparently I'm a bit too frustrated about the current situation, that we have to endure right now, which truly is the dark age of flight sims..
  20. Appreciate the recommendation 👍
  21. @crash Unless FT or Colin wish to join , I can only see the usual 4 or 5 on our side but the 352nd have agreed to make up our numbers. I am planning to run a test mission on Sunday, that deacon has sent over, for comment I am also planning to run a test dogfight mission on our server using a newer version of the generator and of course the new patch version of BoX. If this is successful then we can continue with the campaign missions that I generate, if we have issues again then I am at a loss on how to continue. I have posted on syn vanders thread on the main forums but have had no reply.
  22. Update 29th May Many thanks to all those that attended. More ground was made up the coast from Sochi with the taking of the Bravo FARP. After the session I downloaded the latest version of the mission which has added some new performance improvements and in mission features. For example It is now possible to call up EWACS and get bogey information. The Red carrier fleet zone has also moved more off the coast at Sochi. We briefly tested this new version and it does not effect our progress.
  23. I was short of time when I posted that. I wanted to add my impressions too. First, this is primarily about US military aviation. Lots of technical and political aspects. I've read about everything on WW2 aviation I could find but learned things here I've never heard before. I always wondered why the US had no fighters to speak of at the start of WW2. Up until about 1936 they still figured massive fleets of well defensively armed bombers was going to be the way to wage war and explains why bombing technology in general (B-17, Norden bombsight) was so far ahead in development by 1941. That idea died a quick death in Spain and left the US looking at the Bf-109, Spitfire and Hurricane and having nothing remotely of the same capability. Anyway, a great read.
