Tonar
There was some interest in some more photos and video of my other hobby of flying RC Slope. Most of these were from last weekend. Here is a link to a Video from Last year http://s63.photobucket.com/albums/h144/ ... idgeCD.flv
Shadow
Way cool! The vid made me want to go downtown and fire a glider off one of the buildings (nearest we get to a mountain in these parts).

Way, way cool: you're actually dogfighting them! Expensive?
Tonar
Way, way cool: you're actually dogfighting them! Expensive? No, Most of them are built from EPP foam. they are virtually indistructable(except the control linkage and small amout of balsa control surfaces) you can get started for around $200, which includes the Plane(chevron wing AKA Combat wing), Tx, & Rx. but thats just starting. like any hobby it can cost as much as you got. I most likley have around $2000 in slope gliders and around $4000 in powered planes. it is probably more but I don't think about it. that is over the past 17 years.

DZ9
totally cool! how the hell do you get them back from crashes on sheer cliffs? the dog?
Tonar
Not too many "sheer Cliffs" we retrieve most of them. the Dog helps find them with her ears sometimes but unable to Retrieve very well. we fly them back to ourselve most of the time. Enforcer57
F-ing incredible! my late dad did RC from the early 50s till just a couple of yrs before he died in June. Ive still got a ton of RC kits, engines, and stuff Im trying to sell. You wouldnt believe all the kits , many of them vintage 60s stuff, many very well built planes, many incomplete planes (he was a true craftsman but had a bad habbit of starting projects w/o finishing earlier ones), radio transmitters, and tons of stuff I dont even recognize. He's got an astro hog plane that he built in 66, and a couple of copters he never finished. He's got several gliders and glider kits, and used a bunjee cord catapult to launch them sometiems, and some had small engines. I used to help him launch and recover them when I was much younger. Where is that range of mtns? And I love that P-38. Is one of those shots from a cam mounted on the glider?
Tonar
Let me Know if you want to sell any of it to me! I am always interested in hard to find Kits.takes some shots of the stuff and e-mail them to me. Yes I do have a plane mounted camera, still working out the bugs on how and when to take the shot. the mountains are the Rockies west of denver.
