My Surround sound Speakers died. Sugestions

I had a Creative 5.1 set and the mainboard and the woofer has died.

The speakers are all fine, and the power supply.

But without the mainboard, it's all worthless.

So I'm looking to get new possibly, I enjoy the speakers when I fly in the afternoons, and no one is home.

And only wear the headset at night.

any suggestions on a new set, or thoughts on giving up surround sound, and get a quality set with a woofer?

Yeh I eyeballed those, the other day,

But no more than I get to use them the cost isn't warranted.

If I was hooked up as a personal theater I think it would be worth it, but I only use this PC for occasional movie watching.

Yeh, these I had lasted 7 years, but and they were $120 or so new.

I'm going to try and look around awhile, for something used first before I break down and spend a large sum.

And even then, it will be awhile before i can collect that kind of extra money.

I see two dark spots on this mainboard, under a couple of diodes, (I think diodes)

I'm thinking about getting some new ones and solder them in and see if I get lucky.

Any one familiar with this?

So far I haven't found to many revues, probably cheap.
