I have looked here and on UBI and get the impression that an Nvidia SLI configuration is not an advantage unless running high resolutions when, SLI can help by allowing the use of higher values of antialiasing and anisotropic filtering.

I have a single Nvidia 8800GTX supplying a 22" monitor running at 1650x1080 and have antialiasing at 8x with the aniso at 'application setting' ie. set by IL2. Don't have ANY issues and am happy with framerates as they don't go below 30 on the 'Black Death' and average about 85.

My question is, does anyone use SLI or Crossfire and if so, does it help with the visuals?

My reason for asking is that, with the computer at 18 months old, I have purchased a backup refurbished 8800GTX. Is it worth slotting it in?
