Your dxdiag will reveal which one you have. Did you un-install your nVidia drivers through add/remove programs, reboot and allow it to detect devices before you installed the later drivers. Or have you just installed audio drivers only? I once experienced something that sounds similar to that which you describe, re-routing the audio cables away from the video cable eliminated it. Then there was the case of my wife's nForce audio board, which exhibited horrible audio distortion. The cure for that was much more drastic, a new mobo which also cured the SATA corruption. I have to concede that her mobo was fried in some subtle way, on the positive side I have two 120Gb SATA drives that I now know are OK . She's happy too as she now has my old SD 3700+, gigabyte PCI-E board and a nice ATI 1950....my back up gaming system Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sged Posted June 16, 2007 Author Share Posted June 16, 2007 I've just DL'ed and installed over the old driver... 2nd, the "thicks" where already there BEFORE the new DL....that's why I looked for an update....learned about the acceleration untill later...
