I thought it was an awesome movie.  I think I like so much because there was very limited computer generated aircraft.

I think they used Aircraft from the Spanish airforce of the time

No CGI at all at that time. Everything was either real aircraft or models. In the BoB movie, the '109s' were actually a Spanish licence-built version of the 109 called the Buchon and the Heinkel 111s were also a Spanish licensed version, the CASA 2.111. Both types used Rolls Royce Merlin engines!

I didn't know that they were using the merlin engines.

 

I remember seeing some fire effects that I thouht were not real. how were they generated do you know?
