Great to hear you've completed another successful bombing run Jim!
Hope to fly with you again soon.

To be honest i've got on ok with UP3 so far, it installed ok and in general runs ok.
I do the same as Jabo, and have seperate installs for different versions of IL2 and this has worked out well for me.
Currently I have UP3, 4.101 (ModAct) and good old UP2 just in case! (Plus a stock 4.101 vanilla)
However, when it comes to playing co-ops I agree that we have to fly a version that is stable for everybody, and this last week has proved that not everyone is having such a smooth time of it.
We have to remember that UP3 is still a release candidate and many of the bugs experienced are being worked on for the final release, whenever that may be!
There does seem to be a lot bugs that are affecting mission building/conversions from 4.09, which is particularly worrying.
I for one am willing to give the UP team the benefit of the doubt and continue to trial version 3, because I like what it has to offer.
BUT, I absolutely agree that for the time being we should stick with what is best for the majority, and if that is 4.101, then so be it!

After cracking my ribs last Saturday in a cycling 'incident', I didn't feel up to doing much the following day.
But as the weather was glorious, I headed down to the former Lashenden ALG to see what was happening and relax in the sun.

Fantastic!
Nice pictures, the smiles say it all!
VWC have a beautiful collection of aircraft, and I like the fact that they often paint them in colour schemes relevant to the history of the aircraft or history of aviation in Canada.
The Mustang in particular is refreshingly different to the usual 352nd, 357th FG colours...

Happy Canada Day to you all!
A question, is it a day of celebration on the same level as 4th of July for your cousins across the border?
-
They've started opening the shipping containers to reveal Mustangs 'Fragile but Agile' and 'February'.
I wish someone would deliver P-51s to my front door!

tee hee, very good!

I'd love to mate but having just got back from holiday and with the whole legends weekend the week after, money is a little tight to say the least!
Although it would be good to see the tbirds, I'll get my jet fix at shoreham hopefully, with the Vulcan and hunter confirmed.
It's a shame the Gripen is a cancel at Waddo actually, that may have swayed it for me!
Sitting at Headcorn right now getting a bit of a fix, tastiest things so far have been Stampes, moths and a stearman, but as you know, it's a great place to just chillax with weather this glorious!

Go for it C_G, I've been using the 64-bit version of 7 since the Release Client waaaay back and I honestly believe it's tbe best thing MS have done in a long time.
Jabo
Same here, and I agree wholeheartedly, best M$ product in a long time.
As a user of OS X (work), some of the features of Win7 seemed, hmmm... somehow familiar, but very welcome all the same!
You won't look back mate.

Personally I preferred the two-ship display. It was more dynamic and I hope they still switch to the line astern / close in box formation like they used to, that was impressive to watch.
For sure, whatever they do it'll be great to watch.
Not long now chaps!!!!

When it was at Duxford I stupidly chose not to walk through it, because I thought, ah there'll be another time, hoping to go to the states on a warbird trip in the future. How wrong I was ( this is terribly sad, but glad no lives lost.

Doesn't she look goooooorrrrrgeous!!!!!
Can't wait to see her next month!

Well chaps, I can't believe how fast this year is flying by (pardon the pun!).
It's June already! And this month we have a screenshot by yours truly, which 'i done' a few years ago and just rediscovered.
It was tagged 'Down with a blood red nose', and like last month leans towards an axis flavour as a Ruski Hurri sucumbs to an ace 109.

Along with the usual resolutions, I have also included 5040x1050 for all you lucky multi-monitor bar stewards!

Mine reported to have completed at 4.40am this morning.
I've left it on to seed all day while i'm at work like the good torrent-er that I am
Looking forward to giving it a whirl this evening!
-
My uTorrent says: 'Seeds 10 of 231 connected'
So that means only 10 of those 231 are bothering to seed right?
Nice.
Well, only 1 week to go now @ 2kbps...
-
the enabling encryption in Utorrent, it works with circumventing throttling, most of the time.
I'll have a look at that. I'm BT too.
-
I started mine at 8.30am this morning.
I'm now at 67% as of 6.00pm!
At one time I was getting a D/L speed of 330kbps, now it is a consistent and lowly 5kbps!
Estimated time of completion 4 days...

What Jabo said! ;-)

Great song, very apt Jedi!
(not quite as good as their earlier stuff though - huge Queen fan)
Seafire Belly Landed In France - Crew Unhurt
in Jim's Place
Posted
First reported on the keypublishing forum:
"A report in this morning from Ben Gilbert that SX336 made a wheels up landing at Bondues near Lille, France, yesteday 2nd July.
Pilot is unhurt. Damage minimal and about as light as it can get in these circumstances. - Mark"
Original Post Here
This is a real shame, but glad to hear the pilot (believed to be Anna Walker) was unhurt.
By the looks of the photos, the landing was absolutely text book and hopefully the aircraft will be repaired soon.
This unique aircraft is a regular to Duxford and would have been at Flying Legends next weekend, so that is also a shame.
The full landing sequence was captured on camera. The images can be seen here:
