Fen and I buzzing the crap out of you all? ...

He seems quite a character, and can certainly throw a warbird around

Anyway, the TV programme about 'Winkle' was very good. Thanks for the heads up BB, I'd have missed it else.
Haha no worries mate

I know! I liked the way they left him to tell his story himself, no overblown narration or dramatic music. Perfect. And he's still very lucid at 95!!
@toad - not sure I can help but one of the other uk dogz may be able to?
-
Recorded and just watched it due to other commitments (sorry Col!). What a fantastic programme and an incredible man. Legend is often over used, but Eric Brown truly is one.

Saw this on the key publishing forums:
Eric "Winkle" Brown - BBC2 Tonight
Apologies if this has already been posted but "Britain's Greatest Pilot" at 2100 with Eric taking us through his life. Not to be missed.

Apparently she'll be back in air in no time at all. Combination of soft ground, low rpm and wooden blades mean the merlin is unlikely to be shock loaded. Therefore it's just the considerable expense of a new set of blades…
Also, the silver lining to this is that her sister Spitfire, MK912 has taken her place at DX this weekend. It's the aircraft I modelled my 1/6th scale rc model on and I believe will be it's first appearance at duxford since it left for Canada 10 years ago. Happy Chris

Lucky Mr Tobul! I've always had a soft spot for his F4U. Sounds like damage was minimal, considering.

I'm all over this like a rash. I try and do Shoreham every year anyway, but happy to extend the tour if funds permit in order to get a glimpse of these two beauties together!

Happy Birthdays chaps! Hope you had a good one

Ok I just tried again, this time no error messages and i'm up to 7.02, Weird!
-
Thanks FT, because my current game folder is a copy of an older version the updater was pointing to the old folder (in the ini file) - corrected that and it's downloading again. Might be a solution for you too Christof
+++ EDIT - yeah, got 7.0.2 now - thanks chaps.
Hmm, no joy. My ini is already pointing to the correct folder... I did get an error message both before and after the updater updated.
-
I haven't
Why not? all you have to do is click on the updater
Dunno really Crash - just not got the enthusiasm for it right now. I'll sort it just in case, but don't feel much inclination to fly at the moment. Too many problems, too much like hard work.
+++ EDIT - here we go again - clicked the updater, it's downloaded about 100MB of god knows what and now when I launch the game the splash screen still says 7.0.1 +++
Ho hum
Mine just did the same

I'd like to deliver some iron at stone from wood please

And another jet fix for the benefit of Fenrir and any other Tomcat fan

Well, apparently changes within CAA legislation are afoot, finally!
From what I have read, the intention is to operate under the same rules as our friends in the Southern Hemisphere, where rides in Warbirds are not a problem.
Of course, it's still going to cost you a few organs...
But! At least (hopefully) it will finally be an option.![:)](http://dangerdogz.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/3D_smile.gif)
I must start playing the lottery...
