  1. I was wondering about the usb ports on yours.According to the specs yours has slightly bigger dimensions too....and it's only about 30 bucks more. What do you think about cooling?Liquid or air?.....and who do I talk to about getting a tower out back? ..B(G) western division...lol
  2. At first I was thinking of this... http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=37876&vpn=CSAZ%2D1000&manufacture=AZZA%20Technology but I like the look and description of yours too.
  3. If I was to get them to build and ship it it would cost as follows... Build $50.00 Ship $65.00 Insurance $50.00 It's an 8hr drive to pick it up so that's out.I wouldn't use Canada Post, but Purolator Courier to my doorstep, hence the expensive shipping bill.Part of me would actually like to try and build it myself, but that won't probably happen.Although I have a friend or two who have done it before. I'm thinking I may have to go to a bigger case to have enough room for everything.....that video card is huge.....
  4. I decided not to go with a Dell rig.It was fine for my very first purchase, but things have come a long way since then, and so have I (knowledge wise...sorta)..lol I think going for the high end grapics and processer is the way to go.I'm really liking the NCIX site, and your guys's advise really helps.I'll keep working on the wish list, and see where we end up. B.
  5. I guess I could get that one Jim,if it's good enough for you it must be alright. I've added it to my list above.
  6. Jim, I haven't talked with anyone from NCIX.I've been doing my own research, learning as I go.I'm glad to hear I'm on the right path. I appreciate everyones input here. B.
  7. Ok,I've been looking at NCIX and have been experimenting with some configurations. All of them so far are beating Dell's prices.Although I have no idea about compatibility between components,I'd like to run some ideas by you guys. 8. Thx for all the input guys. @ BG-well now I know I'll need something better than the 5670 video card. As far as money goes,I could afford 3000.00 if I wanted t,but I'd like to stay around 2500.00.As far as Dell goes,to get into the higher end video cards I'd have to look at the XPS 91000 models. But they have pkgs that offer up to 12gb of ram.I'd be paying for excessive RAM just to get the higher video card. There's no way I need that much.I won't even mention the Alienware stuff.I also don't care if it's AMD or Intel. I'm wrestling with the question of "Do I spend the big bucks and go for a real high end card?"I guess I'm looking for some advise/info on what I need to run games on a near perfect level, and what would be considered overkill. @ CG I'll check them out, thx. B.
  9. Building it myself is not an option, due to lack of knowledge.I'd have to really think about a shop building it,due to previous negative experiences. My first computer purchase was a Dell back in '06...windows xp,single core,2.8mhz,1gb of ram etc, for about $1140.00cdn taxes included.
  10. Thinking about getting a new computer....not a Dell now. My main area of concern is the processer and graphics card.I'm wondering if the benefits of spending more money to upgrade these would be worth it.In other words, where do I draw the line as far as overspending vs what I need for what I use my computer for.?Basically I use it for games, and surfing the web.No movies, video editing, etc. Another thing is I've decided to go for the eye candy for all my games with my new rig, whatever it is... EDIT... See "THE WISH LIST" further down this thread.
  11. ok,...I ran out of beer, but B 4 I go..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y09YOkVmGg0 ...A tough beer run....

  14. Hey Pook, let me know when you get the cheque. B.
  15. Hey Pook, the pedals arrived about a week ago.The cheque is in the mail.Everything seems to work ok.Had to do some research on the forums to find out how map them so the game would recognize them....wonderful stuff our forums are. Anyways, thanks again. B.
  16. Sold! I'll pm you with more info...mailing address,payment method etc.Thanks Pooka. B.
  17. Hey Pooka,do you still want to sell them or have you changed your mind? B.
  18. not meaning to hijack this post....here's the long answer to your question,JP....as if u did'nt know....
  19. Looks like I'm the first,Pooka.I'm interested, and willing to pay a fair price....will you barter with a Canadian after our hockey win?...lol B.
  20. I have the old fashioned Windows XP.The programs that boot up are: 1-a program for viewing pics from my digital camera. 2-one from my scanner-printer for viewing pics etc. At one point these never booted up on startup.I launched them seperately After startup. B. edit....ok,ran the software and clicked on preferences and disabled the "run automaticly on startup" option....Like they say.you learn something new every day...lol thanks guys B.
  21. When I start my computer,I have several programs that start/load/boot-whatever you call it- and appear in the system tray automaticly. This really increases the wait time during startup.I can't figure out how to stop this from happening automaticly. Can anyone help? B.
  22. Hi guys, Well, after 44 days of consectutive 15 hr days.....It's OVER!!!! I'm now taking some time off for a well deserved rest. But not for long, because soon I'll be taking some training courses offered by my union to prep for the long awaited B.C. Hydro $900 million Waneta Dam Expansion Project. This project is a HUGE boost to the local area.So far experts say 4 to 5 years of steady work for all involved....for me personally,it's been quite a life changing experience,...going from the logging industry,...(which I've done all my life and was all I knew,to getting into the construction industry.) I was not real good with pen & paper & numbers etc,but my lack of education seems overshadowed by my life expereince, work ethic and determination and drive.Anyways, things are really good and I'm looking forward to being a great working foreman or whatever else they throw at me..... Now if I could just remember where I parked my plane......hope to see you in the air soon. Bucky
  23. Hey guys, Just to let you know, all is well.I'm working on a shutdown project at Tek Comimnco. They made me a foreman,in charge of a 8 person crew.I'm working 15 hrs a day,7 days a week...I have no life, but the money is great....I hope to see you in the air when I'm done. Anyways,"Check your six"...and "I'll be back"... B.
  24. ~S~ Friar, What time of day will this happen?I would like to be a part of this.My timezone is PDT....- 8 GMT. B.
