I can't get these damn things to work and I'm sick of trying now. Hopefully I'll have my old rig online this weekend and maybe somebody could talk me through this stuff on ts. ...why the heck did I get windows 7 anyway? thanks for the help so far guys.

OK, I disabled the UAC thingy and I still get the same results.Drivers failed to install. Oh,and I'm staying with Track ir 4 for now,untill I get this sorted out.

Yeah,I have windows 7. I'm almost regretting getting it.I'm having a heck of a time trying to install some of my other games as well.At least IL2 installed ok.

I've had my new computer for 5 days now,and here's my problems. 1) My track ir 4 sensor won't work.I've tried every usb port and I get a "drivers weren't installed successfully" message.I've install\uninstall repeatedly and it no work. 2) TS 3 is telling me my mike is disabled.It works when I do the voice test only. There's a few more but I'd like to get these ones fixed first.

Well now IL2 loads fine.I didn't do anything,the blue screen is just gone.However still cant go back to a previous system restore point.I checked and it is turned on.

All my other games load and play fine.It's just IL2 that this happens. I haven't turned off a service for a long time.I'll try to paste later on...need to sleep now. ...thx. B.

LOL.... It would've been faster for me to deliver it to you driving in my truck,stopping along the way to visit the other ddz. According to Yahoo maps,it's 2800.7km and about 25hrs 39min. from me to you. Rumour has it that the letter went to Vancouver B.C.,then almost all the way across Canada to Toronto Ont.,THEN down into the States. one thing about dealing with ncix,when you select the pc builder tool,you have to chose from a list of pre-built machines,(same as dell).And then customize to suit your taste.You are limited somewhat by the choices you have. Although I was able to get most things that were on my list,I had to make a few changes.It's ok though,as they were only minor adjustments.I'm still quite satisfied with the end result choices.The final total is $2100.00.That's below my original budget of 2500. Well I decided on the radeon 6970,and that's that. I"ve gotten mixed reviews about that store in town,and the guy has until this afternoon to give me his price,(based on the list I gave him 2 days ago).

Thx for the input guys, @BG,I checked out the pricematch,and I found about 4 or 5 things for a lower price. @Kimo,your info helped me make up my mind on a couple of choices. I still haven't really made up my mind on the video card.That's about the only thing that's left I guess.I still will look into the store here and explore my options.It makes me feel pretty good that I now know quite a few things about all this.I'll be a well informed potential customer the next time I talk to the guy,and ncix too.

Guys, On the list I've added 2 different choices for certain components.I'd like your thoughts about them. But you'll be happy to hear that I think I've pretty much got the stuff I need for the rig,and will stop looking for more now. I've learned that the more you look the more you find.That's ok though,because I sure didn't want to regret not getting a particular item/upgrade once it arrived. On another note,today I visited a fairly new computer store in town,and it turns out they work closely with NCIX.Some sort of affiliation or something.The guy said he could get what I need from them at just a "little" more then their (ncix) prices,and give me a deal on shipping. But I am suspicious,because I don't know them and I haven't heard of their reputation yet.I'll ask around be fore I commit to anything,but it does sound hopeful. The place is gamer oriented,with lots of gamer type stuff on the shelves.....oh.and he says intel over amd any day,and nvidia over ati too.

Samsung it is then. Now I'm deciding between amd and intel.I orginally went for amd,but now I'm on the fence. I've heard that amd runs almost as fast as intel....I don't like "almost".I've also read that bottlenecks usually are related to processing power.But with a high end graphics card,like the 6970,it can be overcome. I suppose I could throw in some burners.Air cooling was my first choice.I'm thinking the list is almost done 'cept for Windows 7 64 bit and a monitor.Thinking of a 23inch LCD widescreen.Not sure what brand or resolution.
