  1. "You need to assign a key to 'Toggle level Autopilot'.

Once used it will change the behaviour of autopilot switching:

    - default is 'Switch Autopilot on' when you leave a position in a bomber.

    - default is 'Switch Autopilot off' when you enter a position in a bomber.

Once you've used the key, the automatic switching is off, and you will need to switch the Autopilot off yourself when you enter the bombardier position, and (which is more relevant to remember) switch it on when you leave a gunner position.

    Hope this makes sense!

    Have Fun!"

(Copied from some thread at Ubi)

lol FT actually it does not!! :)

'Toggle level Autopilot' is used for stabilizing the bomber. 'Toggle Autopilot' is the right option.

it was probably just a typo :)

  2. You need to hit your autopilot button. There's a way of setting it to manual control by default as well, but I don't remember right now.

If you jump in the seat and hit autopilot to take control, don't forget to give control back to the autopilot, or you'll have a 'dead' manual gunner back there.

    what he said :)

  3. yes it usually looks like that. u can use it only if the waypoint's are entered in the game. when they are. the little plane is showing u the way to the next waypoint and will switch to next one when u reach the first one.

very good stuff if i know how to use it and if the waypoints are entered correctly.

  4. ok guys. we sorted the problem. i went there and just copied my il2 game folder to hes computer so he does not need to reinstall the game all over again. and everything is working fine now.

    thx for the support guys.

  5. Would like to see the contents of his conf.ini file.

Can you somehow get it from him, and post it here?

Then again, not sure if I really understand the issue:

    - "when he makes a roll instead of hes horizon, hes cockpit is rolling."

Okay, this is what happens when in external view: Aircraft rolls, Horizon stays horizontal. That's normal.

When in cockpit, it should not happen. Correct would be: Aircraft rolls, wings stay horizontal, horizon rolls.

    - "so if he fly's upside down hes cockpit is up!?"

When in external view, this is not normal.

When in cockpit view this is correct.

So, I find this a bit contradictory... or is it just me?

hey FT ty for your answer.

when i fly (and i'm always talking in cockpit. same goes for Vila) and when i roll what happens is my cockpit is stationary and my horizon is rolling. my gauges are always in the bottom of the screen no matter how i roll.

Vila has some problems with hes ISP at the moment that's why i'm doing this for hem.

  6. how very odd. Is there a setting in conf.ini somewhere which does this?

    ~S~ Jabo

hmm...if i would know that i would help hem correct it. i remember Funflak once saying that he changed something in settings and that totally helped hem to be a better pilot. maybe that has something to do with that.

  7. hey guys. i was speaking with Vila today and he has a strangest problem with IL2.

when he makes a roll instead of hes horizon, hes cockpit is rolling. so if he fly's upside down hes cockpit is up!?

    any ideas?

  8. when i bought my self a motor helmet i got some reflective stickers extra. i used them for the purpose.

for a beginning u could use a hat with only 1 point. this is enough for two degrees of freedom and to be able to look around freely. 6 degrees of freedom are only available in moded version of the game

  9. one way is to put 3 led's on your cap and direct them to camera. but this requires a battery or other power supply and wires going from your cap to the PS.

other way is to put 6 IR led's on the camera facing to your cap and put some reflective stickers or something similar. the cap that TOAD build would be good also except that the reflective part does not have to be so big. u can have small bolls for this one ;) . so there is no wires going from your cap.

in the camera is 5V coming from USB port. u can use it for powering those 6 led's so no extra wires there also. schema is attached.

if u decide to put led's on your cap take a fine rasp or sand paper and sand off the round tip of the led's. it will help to disperse the light.

  10. Crysis is a bear of a game when it comes to hardware.

I was able to run it with full graphics @ 1680 x 1050 on my AMD 6000+ 4Gb and ATI 4870HD, but there were areas it would stutter...

Valid points made about the meaning of this bench mark, and if truth be known to us guys the proof of the pudding is what our systems will do with the good old gold standard, and I'm surprised it has not been mentioned before, of using IL2 and Fraps (or the in game counter) to determine the min/max/average frame rates.

    Mine with maxed settings:

    Avge 41

    Max 83

    Min 14

I haven't optimized my GPU largely because the ATI CCC failed to install (8.12 CCC has known issues with XP64 :( ) and I haven't got around to installing RivaTuner.

I do ponder the value of a faster hard drive, yes applications/windows/games will load faster, but I would not expect that to have an impact on frame rates, unless the system needs to page virtual memory - but then more RAM would be a better buy in that case ;) .

well said Besixteenenk. the best way to show or check how your comp is working with IL2 is to play the Black Death movie in the game and check the frame rate with

    fps START SHOW

    typed in the console

  11. TS Display will work on Vista only if u have your GL PROVIDER set do directx in your config.ini and as Falcon all ready stated TSO is not working.

TSO project is closed but same guy started a new project here: http://www.projecttint.com/

    to correct my own post.

Jedi's post inspired me to do some more tests and what i find out is that TS Overlay WILL wor on Vista if u do stuf this way:

    - after downloading installation file and before the install it self, right click it and go to properties. pick compatibility tab and set winXP sp2 compatibility mode.

    - install the software

    - make sure that your glprovider in conf.ini in IL2 is set to opengl (if u r stuck with directx, no go 4 u)

    - run it, set it up and that's it. it works.

phenomenal peace of sw if u ask me.

  12. i have posted all ready once and i'll do it again.

there is more trouble then benefit from 64 bit Windows. actually only benefit you'll have is support for more then 4 GB of RAM. and for home or game computer that is insane if u ask me. IL2 and 99% of other software are not designed for 64 bit OS and can not use their capabilities.

and what u certainly can expect, is a lot of trouble with 64 bit drivers.
