  1. Ah, I see........I think. Not quite sure what that proves as here; we have the CoD map as a winter wonderland. With a bit of digging I can give you the CoD map in it's desert guise. Sorry, wallets staying firmly down the crack of my arse where us Scots/Yorkshiremen prefer to keep it! (drink, anyone? ). Apologies for thread derail too.
  2. Indeed! This year I have a full-time income once again and I've warned all the members of my immediate family that they're not to die in early July!! Fruitbat is gonna' have to remind me why I owe him a pint? Has he won a fugley contest?
  3. I've been bought a ticket to Saturdays show by my eldest!
  4. May the blessed Virgin of Purley Oaks be praised to the Lord! We here are privileged to live in the age of miracles. TB3 death-match @The DangerDogz in a RoF stylee;
  5. Cor!! Yes, it is like a Christmas card. We live in water world though
  6. If you could post this Snacko, I'd be grateful. Been too occupied with the new channel map in RoF to pay much attention to Cliffs but I'm gonna sort it!
  7. No. Not a bug. You've got to buy it to get the code.
  8. Painless m8! I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year and I look forward very much to you buying me a pint at Duxford and handing over that £5 when the Burmese Spitties make their non-appearance in the Spring. My youngest is still at that age where Santa might...just, be real. So I'm preparing chocolates and a glass of Bailies for him and a carrot for Rudolf. My eldest son, before going out on the pull tonight also suggested a copy of Hustler magazine to keep the old boys spirits up tonight!
  9. It has been released as a beta yes but I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing. Just haven't had much chance to sort it out yet. Just about to go out and do some last minute grocery shopping. When I come back RoF should have released their channel map. I'm gonna get that D.L'ing and cycle down town for a spot of last minute, on a whim, prezzy* shopping. Tonight we'll go to midnight mass then my wife will stay up to three or four a.m. wrapping all this shit and I'll be on hand to give her moral support whilst I fly my new map! *Painless; that's prezzy shopping. Not Lezzy.................................................
  10. But Kev,now you've been banned from the IL2 forum I thought you could join me there! What do you reckon? "Fruitella Bat"? Perhaps Bongo would like to join too? p.s. I'm on holiday! :thumbsu:

  13. BS Player? Mine works perfectly. Look! It's all BS.
  14. Oh fantastic BA! I'll see you there m8 Do you think you'll be able to get JP along? You could have a meeting of the axis partners!!
  15. Awarded myself an early Christmas pressy last week. The F15 with it's new 'pit is really rather nice and I can now shoot things down wiv' missiles. And the night sky is pretty fantastic...this is the Orion constellation with the Pleiades visible too. One small, minor problem at the moment. I can't fly any of the other planes at all. I can't seem to make any of the zoom functions, button assignment or throttle to work. The original LockOn planes just don't want to play. Anyone got any ideas?
  16. I've installed the latest drivers and software for TrackIr 5 to run my Mk. 4 version and turned off triple-buffering too and it works really well at the moment. No stiction or hesitation in head movements.
  17. No, I think your wrong Crash. We will at first undoubtedly get just the one map but more than one 'plane! They won't be generic maps either but as accurate as they can make them. The RoF model is to pay for continuing development it's true but 777 Studios understand that to do this you need a very high quality bar in everything they do. This means not only exquisite aircraft and maps but that it must all work too. Without this their revenue stream is threatened - people simply won't buy. I think we'll just have to get used to this business model. The market for a high quality combat flight sim is just too small to support a large studio knocking out one highly complex, complete game in one go. If sales were in the Call of Duty range, i.e. millions of units sold within two months of release then it would be different but unfortunately for us the genre just does not work like this and cannot support these kind of sales figures. Three or four years ago Jim got Miss Kleaneasy, the UBI forum manager, to find out about sales of IL2. She came back with the figure of just under a million copies of all iterations of IL2 sold by UBISoft over an eight year period. Thats pretty small fry these days. How many copies of SkyRim have been sold since it's release earlier in the year? What we know of CoD development from Luthier was that the 'planes were uneconomic to produce, taking upto six months work for each one, they were stuck with a game code that was lumpen, easily broken and just plain awkward to work with because of decisions made under Oleg several years ago. I think the entry of 777 Studios and their team into this is very good news indeed.
  18. Hello Rob, nice to see you back here. Mind you don't chew up the furniture Pup!
  19. Cool! The buggers bombed both my Primary and Secondary schools but it took the Poll Tax to wipe 'em both out! Crash; I doubt they've got the bandwidth for Berlin.
  20. I remember this well. It was astonishing and as his goal was to promote peace between East and West then he succeeded in spades! Gorbachov was able to use this breach in Soviet security as a reason to kick out a lot of the Breznev old guard and accelerate perestroika. What a guy!
  21. Agree with Trib and FT. Especially FT's point about keeping it simple as I always end up ramming bombers unintentionally!!
  22. Thank f**k it's December the 1st. After two weeks, the last of which people have been looking at me and sayin' "What the....ahh, Movember!" and much to my wife's dismay I have produced 3" of hairy, ginger and under-nourished Caterpilla on my upper lip and appeared to age rapidly. More Blakey than Hitler though....... Felt much better and looked much better after 'avin it 'orf this morning.
