  5. Hello friends I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends and colleagues, but it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on advice I wish to say the following : Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious / secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all . I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2012, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that the United States is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes . By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms : This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/him or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. The wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher . Best Regards ( without prejudice ) Name withheld ( Privacy Act ).
  6. I doubt Iran is much of a threat, but you can be sure the Big Boys (Russia/China) would love to get their hands on this thing and probably already have. Let's just hope the RQ-170's software/firmware had some sort of anti--tamper measures built in.
  7. I've been following this story for a few days now and wondering what to make of it. At first there was speculation the Iranians had faked the whole thing, but the photos are convincing and the aircraft looks largely intact. This is shaping up to be a very big loss for the US. I'm surprised the aircraft didn't have an inertial guidance system as a backup (instead of jammable GPS) and it didn't have a self-destruct feature. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=8517205&c=AIR&s=TOP
  8. Have a great B'day, Oldtimer.
  9. Mayhem, I like your switch box, nicely done.
  10. No big deal for you Duxford regulars, but for the rest of us peasants, this is cool as hell.... http://www.airshows.org.uk/2010/airshows/duxford-battle-of-britain-airshow-review.html
  11. Good find, Captain. I had never heard of Bill Whittle before. He makes a great presentation.
  12. Interesting bit of history. Thanks for sharing, Greyknight. P
  13. Tired of fumbling with the keyboard when trying to extend gear and flaps. I rounded up a few switches and am trying to strap together a simple panel for this stuff. Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. P
  14. Hey Guys, Is there a way to tweak IL-2 so that I can lower and raise the gear with separate switches instead of toggling a single switch? Thanks, P
  15. This may have been posted earlier; sorry if it's a repeat: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid34757272001?bclid=0&bctid=87804472001 P
  16. Fourteen hundred bucks! Yipes! MaximumPC gave it high marks but noted that besides the stratospheric cost, the card "could suck the life out of an 850 watt power supply". It draws 785 watts under load.
  17. Great find, Blubear. Thanks for sharing this. P

    Steve Jobs

Saddened to hear of the death of Steve Jobs. Just 56 years old when he passed away, but he certainly accomplished a lot. P

    Salute To Bg

Jim When you welcomed me to the dog pack 4 years ago, I was a rookie who didn't know a stick from a rudder pedal. And I still don't!! Thanks for the great times, my friend.
