    Having succesfully negotiated 5 eye operations, I am now told that I need an operation on my leg to stop it falling off! Life just ain't fair - I'm not that old...... Am I?

      @Crash - within the month. Am a bit worried though - they muttered things like a fem-fem crossover. Sounds alarmingly like a sex change.....Maybe have to be Oldtimer-ess!

      I know what a fem-fem crossover means and it ain't a sex change. What I can say is that this procedure was first carried out in 1946 - which means it is well-established and perfected. Like you, I'm old enough to remember the very first heart transplant - now it's just another common procedure in the surgeon's arsenal.
