  1. I've just worked through BlackViper's list of services, and I whole-heartedly concur with Stingray - It's a really good comprehensive list. I'm running my machine now in 'Tweaked' mode and it seems fine. Bear in mind though that if you do use this list you must have a) Windows XP

  2. As I understand the internal architecture of 'normal' (non-laptop) multicore processors surely it would be more beneficial to utilise both (or all four) cores especially if you're using dual channel memory? In any case, all the internal cores will use the same FSB, so I'm not sure where the speed increase would come from.

I believe that laptop cpu architecture is different to that used in desktops, so that may account for the difference between the guys using desktops and those like RitterCuda who use laptops.

    Just my two cents

  3. From Wikipedia:

Many automotive companies in the United States used the "Suburban" name to indicate a windowed, station wagon type body on a commercial frame including Dodge, Plymouth, Studebaker, Nash, Chevrolet, and GMC. With the end of production of the Dodge Town Wagon in 1966, only General Motors continued to manufacture a vehicle branded as a "Suburban", and they were awarded an exclusive trademark on the name in 1988.

Hmm, thanks Snacko - The point I was trying to make is that AWD humungous truck thingies are the ideal thing for using off-road (ie not 'suburban' areas), but over here they tend to get used for the school run and going to the shops where the nearest they get to 'off-road' is taking up two spaces to park and maybe, just maybe rolling up a kerb. They weren't nicknamed 'Chelsea Tractors' for nothing.

    Yeah, yeah, I'm a tree-hugger.

  4. Never one to be put down by some minor issue - here's another option. Download and run ccleaner from here:

Make sure you also run the registry cleaner (when it prompts you to backup the registry first I suggest you do - just in case). Then try to uninstall the sw from the ccleaner 'options' tab.

I suspect there are stub or corrupted files kicking around which are screwing up your attempts to uninstall the sw.

PS When that doesn't work let me know

  5. You could try this if you have the time. Download and install the latest SB software from creative over the top of what you already have, then remove the lot, and reinstall the downloaded sw a second time - that might allow you to remove the faulty installation and replace it with a good one.

PS Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals m8 - all the best to you both.
