    Salute To Bg

When I joined the Danger Dogz I had little inkling that I was headed into some of the hardest times in my life, or that I had joined the group that would play a major part in getting me through it. Through a failed business, bankruptcy and so many times when I thought I just couldn't go on, Jim and the Dogz have been there, and not in just a small way. See, you guys loved me when I hated myself, you were happy to "see" me when I couldn't bear to look in the mirror. I'm a good actor, so most of you guys probably never new any of this, but it's your genuineness that kept my feet on the ground, and my head in the game, so many times when I'd have just rather given up. This all is in no small measure due to Jim Smith, a man of immense character and a great leader. Men of character attract men of character, and I believe that this is the single biggest reason why the Dogz are such an exceptional group. Few outside our group would understand, but that's OK. They don't need to, we do. I Love you, Jim. I Love you, Dogz. Thank You. Chet.
  2. I don't know about the force feedback, but as far as I know there is no limit to the number of controllers with CloD.
  3. Nice pics guys! I'm sooooooo jealous. I'm going to get there next year if I have to beg borrow or steal.
  4. AAAHHH! Psycho and DT, now them was the days. Happy B'day you old fruit.
  5. Looks like the prop is wood. If we break out our pocket knives and start a whittlin' we could knock out a new set of blades in no time!
  6. I'm cool whit' dat. I also think it's a little weird to pull away from coops. I'm not sure I get it.
  7. They really need to do something about the AI taking off immediately and leaving you trying to warm up your engine while they head off at full throttle. The apple don't fall far from the tree.
  8. What he said. I'd try Aviaskins for the Mig, there the guy's who made it.
  9. I really, really hope that Daidalos doesn't see fit to make things any more difficult for the modders than is necessary with 4.11. It looks like it will have some really nice features. I especially like the "smart throttle" idea, as I've been thinking about getting one of the split throttle rigs.
  10. Updater? You shouldn't have an updater in UP3. Are you installing over a clean 4.10.1 install? UP3 will not install over UP2 at all. It can be installed over HSFX 5.0 and/or SAS Modact 3.0, but it can't be installed over UP2.
  11. I love the last clip. The eagle throws his head back and looks around as if to say "any one else care to fuck with me?"
  12. As far as the shippack issue, I think the Idea was to keep them separate to make it easier for people who were building missions for both modded and non-modded games, it's probably just not an issue anymore. The aircraft consolidation that they've done is for performance issues because IL2 is reaching it's design limits on many levels, the amount of planes it can handle being a big one. It seems that at some point IL2 will simply refuse to accept any more planes, so they are trying to pare down the excess planes to leave more room for player addons. The thing that gets me is the way they changed all of the ini's on the A6M3's; but I suspect that they're just typos in the files. I think that what they're doing will work just fine in the end, but there may be some growing pains.
  13. Sorry, I took a look before I came back here. I beg your forgiveness!!!!! But on the bright side I found several aircraft that were changed as well. Most notably the A6M3's. All of them have different .ini names, and since it didn't make any sense I put it in a bug report. The rest were planes that were consolidated like the B-24 and the SBD-3. I'll stick to the Madjek missions and my own stuff from now on. The Palau mission was very helpful in showing me what to look for since that I had flown it several times, so I knew what to expect and it makes extensive use of modded items. Thanks.
  14. I had that happen to me too. I ended up reinstalling TS3, and it worked fine after that. I still don't know why. I think we should go to cans and strings.
  15. I'll bet that's why your Palau MDS Mission didn't work right for me, Snacko..... Must've been the ships. It doesn't make sense that a ship problem would cause the airplanes to not work but I've always thought that mission building in IL2 was a lot like Government work, so maybe it does make sense after all (in a nonsensical sort of way). I think I'll start on reworking the MadJek packs, as I reworked a lot of them for UP2 and proberly broke them for UP3. Snacks, do you have any interest in looking at that Palau Mission, or should I give it a go? I also intend to start working on some Pacific "strafer" missions. That A-20 strafer really gives me a woody.
  16. I'll do some up. Time allowing. I've already tested some of Snacko's MDS missions and found some of them not working properly.
  17. It's not recommended to use JSGME mods in UP except for the ones properly marked. All Mods for Ultrapack go in the #UP# folder, the MOD folder does not work with Ultrapack any more. I only have a few things in my #UP# folder, I'm not planning on massing with it much until the release version comes out. I have HSFX 5.0, SAS Modact 3.0 and UP 3.0 all running out of the same folder, and it works a treat. It takes up much less room than 4 separate installs too.
  18. I WANT ULTRAPACK NOW!
  19. It's propagating through the steam system as I type. Could the first person with an English install who gets it please post their Maddox.dll file? Tanks.
  20. I'm a big rudder thrasher. I find the rudder most useful in dogfights to pull really tight twisty spirals in the more maneuverable planes. At corner speed you can practically plant one wingtip of a KI-43 on a given point of sky and turn the plane right around it, you'll need lots of rudder and even more practice, but you'll send those P-40 drivers home talking to themselves. On planes with negative G cutout, you can bank the plane and use the rudder to "slide down the wing" if you need to bring the nose down. In conclusion, don't consider your rudder as just "that flappy thing at the back of me kite", it's a useful tool if properly understood.
  21. Actually, Sid. Your not far off for the states either. Here in Connecticut our new (Very, very Liberal) Governor wants to put a "busway" between two cities that already have direct highway connection on which busses already operate at a cost of several hundred million dollars for 9.5 miles of pavement! It would be cheaper to buy the entirety of the projected ridership a new Honda Civic. At least the Honda's wouldn't require even more government employees that we can't afford to pay to operate them. The sad part of the story is that this is a paltry sum compared to what the twits in Washington are burning up. Our grandchildren won't even be able to pay off the debt. \
  22. Will I need a new madox.dll file to get English? And is it posted somewhere? Thanks It's easy with the Beta patches, just download both versions of the patch. Install the Russian patch, then just copy over the Maddox.dll from the International patch. P.S. The best procedure with the Beta patches is to extract them into a file (or desktop) then copy/paste into the game directory. Extracting them directly into the directory causes problems for some people.
  23. Lol lots Angus! BG whats all this about 'fundraising' for the Tamil Tigers? Did this really happen. What has been Canada's connection with Hizbollah? I'm asking you as I know I'll get a straight answer. I expect JP's too busy considering a political career!! Oh yeah, what happened to the Quebec mob? They seem to have gone into meltdown. It's the ole' my enemy's enemy is my friend conundrum, the lefties (and by that I mean the politicians, I do feel that there are people who actually believe in that stuff, like Angus) have no qualms about bedding down with the enemies of their own country, so long as it serves their agenda. This is business as usual for them.
  24. Just so you know Dave, CloD puts all of the user files in your Docs folder under 1C Softclub. You'll find your Conf.ini, mission folders, skins, etc there. Don't forget to grab the skin folders from your main game directory and drop them into the skin folder in you Docs file so that they actually work.
