  1. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I do like the Cyborg X, but was worried about it being unstable with only 3 feet and not a big flat base to secure it down. It seems like it would tip over very easy. Is that a problem Jabo? That Avaitor does have a nice big flat base to it, which would be easy to secure. Yea, the first person I PM'ed was Brando. He gave me some good suggestions, but has a custom setup. I don't think my uncle will want to spend too much in the beginning until he sees if this hobby is good for him. He will be getting TrackIR and IL2 also for XMas, so that is a good start. I hope that he enjoys it. I told his wife that I can drive up to Chicago and help him out after XMas if he would like that. It is a lot of new stuff for a 70 year old to figure out on his own. Old Dogs/New Tricks kind of thing...
  2. Hey, I have an uncle who is about 70 years old. He want's to learn IL2, and needs a good joystick. And he only has one hand. He lost his right hand in an accident when he was about 25 years old. What joystick can you suggest? Any help or suggestion is appreciated. Something stable with a lot of buttons and a throttle all on one stick. Thanks, Snacko
  3. Great Pics Gary! Thanks for sharing. My fav is the F16. How is that powered?

  5. Great pix Rox! Why didn't you plan this for the summer or spring? Or maybe the guy with the firecrackers was in charge? LoL
  6. I saw this in person at an RC show with Fun. It was beautiful! But I would like to see a pic of your living room where you told me your wife not only let you hang your planes, but painted scenery on the wall..

I use a baseball cap with the clip on it. So, anybody looking at me has to wonder what satellite station I am picking up with that thing.... But nobody said a word..

  11. Very good Fenrir, Cheers!
  12. Wish I had known that I didn't need ram cooling a year ago. Oh well. I have some one ones coming in the mail and will put them in.. If they are too noisy I'll take them out.
  13. Hey Bucky! I remember that guy! Well, I'm glad you have lot's of work. Hope to see you in the virtual skies soon..
  14. I have that same memory Jack and like it. But the stock fan that usually comes with it sucks really bad. I finally order a better fan yesterday from Newegg. Here is what it looks like: I don't know if this prebuilt computer uses the stock memory cooling. But if it does, and you get a loud noise, don't wait a year like I did. Just replace it, this fan really sucks. I posted a review about it yesterday and all the reviews were pretty much the same.
  15. A few days ago I think.
  16. Sorry to hear more bad news BG. I will keep you in my prayers. Have you talked to Funflak about Proton Beam Therapy? He was telling me about that a few weeks ago and it was very impressive. Not sure if it would apply for you, but worth a look.
  17. Oops, I didn't read Roger's post correctly. It looks like he has not found the new patch. You can find it in my link above Roger. I have an ATI 4850x2 and the original install has been working fine for me Roger.
  18. Hey guys are you having these problems with the original install, or after this new patch? http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&product_sid=DCS_A-10C_Beta_2_Patch_EN&end_pos=2364&lang=en I am wondering because I have downloaded this new patch, but have not installed it yet...
  19. Great Pics Swep! I got a Nikon D40 last year and just started my first photography class last tuesday. So, now I am trying to learn how to take pictures manually so that I now what is going on. I hope my skills can match yours someday...
  20. Roger Sulky, that's it.
  21. Cool. Thanks for posting that. The Bridges at Toko-Ri is one of the few missions that I have created that actually has mission goals. And if they are achieved the game should let you know as you destroy an objective. Have any of you guys seen that movie? It's pretty good for it's time. The bridge attacks look like models and the flak is ridiculous, but it was pretty good still.

Oops, well I see from your reply to FT that is exactly what you are doing. I have never tried that, but as we have mentioned there would be technical problems. My first guess is that would probably never work unless it was two of the exact same computers, and the backup images was of a basic windows install.

Not sure if I understand you correctly here Jim. Are you saying you made a backup image of one computer and restored it on a different computer? That may not work well unless they are the exact same computers with the same devices and everything. Your backup image may have windows drivers for devices that don't exist, and not have drivers for devices that do exist. This can't be what you are doing, right??
