  1. You can update within Win 7 using the ISO - burn it to disk, whilst Win 7 is running insert the disk and it should prompt you to upgrade, it will do some updates but most of the data needed is on the disk. At least that is how I did a couple of systems.

  2. You would likely need to upgrade first TOAD - the key is then built (inside the software) based on the hardware in the machine. You can then subsequently re-install windows from the ISO, skip the key entry and it automatically activates itself once you reconnect to the web. The jury is still out on what happens if you change the hardware in the machine and reinstall, as some people have had to get a replacement key from MS support whereas I changed my boot HDD and didn't need to.

  3. When updating from a legal Windows 7/8 installation, one does not need to enter any key... It either should not ask you for it at all, or there's a 'Skip' option available...
